Square Enix released a new "Clash of Time" trailer of Final Fantasy XIII-2, the game will be out in North America on Jan 31, and in Europe on Feb 2.
Nintendo revealed that Wii U will launch worldwide this year before the holiday season. Wii U will support Nintendo Network, and will offer personal accounts and NFC (Near Field Commncation) functionality to the Wii U tablet controller, which allows the controller to read and write to cards or make micropayments.
Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata announced during the earning briefing, that a new 2D Super Mario title will be coming to 3DS in the next fiscal year between Apr 1, 2012 - Mar 31, 2013.
Satoru Iwata said Nintendo will stop taking losses for each 3DS sold in the first half of the next fiscal year. Currently Nintendo is selling the 3DS below cost after slashing the price by 10,000 yen in Aug 2011.
Nintendo revealed new details on the Nintendo Network, which was first revealed in the box art of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. It will support both 3DS and Wii U, users can download paid add-on content for game software. Nintendo's Tobidasu Purikura (photo touch-up app) will be the first title to support Nintendo Network, Square Enix's Theatrhythm Final Fantasy and Koei Tecmo's Shin Sangoku Musou VS will also support download content.
Nintendo also announced that they will support digital distribution of software for both 3DS and Wii U in future, players can download games directly from eShop instead of buying package software from stores.
Bandai Namco confirmed that Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny will be released on March 29, for 5980 yen; this is the first Gundam game available for Vita.
