- Sony announced a new graphic engine called PhyreEngine, which is a free to use, cross platform engine optimized for multi-core, supporting OpenGL and Direct3D. It allows developers to develop PS3 titles in the PC environment, and a simple recompile is all that is needed to make the game runs on PS3. Three titles are revealed to have used the PhyreEngine: flOw, GripShift and DIRT from Codemasters. It is possible to develop games that run on both PS3 and PC (and Xbox 360 indirectly) with this tool.

- Nintendo's internal project team leader Takashi Aoyama mentioned that the company is planning to introduce a new fee-based internet content plan for Wii. An example would be providing additional content for a game through the WiiWare, such as new content for Wii Fit.

- Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime mentioned that he expects Wii to outsell Microsoft's Xbox 360 in US by June 2008, with the Wii sales to be driven by Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mark Kart Wii.

- Nintendo announced the Commodore 64 classic games will be available in Wii's Virtual Console soon, but it is only slated for European release so far.

- Microsoft has announced a price cut of Xbox 360 in Canada. The Xbox 360 Elite retail price is reduced from $499 to $449; the regular Xbox 360 is reduced from $399 to $349, the Xbox 360 Arcade is reduced from $299 to $279, and the Xbox 360 Halo 3 Special Edition is reduced from $449 to $399.

- Sony announced a new version of the PSP Store is in development, which will eliminate the need to use a PC in order to download content and transfer to the PSP handheld. The new service will be called PlayStation Store On PSP.

- Square Enix announced a new subsidiary Square Enix Mobile Studio will be opened in Sapporo, Japan in April 2008, which will focus on mobile game development. The studio will be headed by Yoichi Haraguchi, with 20 staff members.
