- Midway / Epic Games mentioned that 1.2 million copies of the shooter Unreal Tournament III were shipped worldwide for PS3 and PC, and the Euro version will be released on February 22, 2008.
- Sony mentioned that over 10.5 million PlayStation 3 were sold worldwide since its launch in December 2006.
- Evolution Studios' PS3 offroad racing game MotorStorm has sold over 3 million copies worldwide.

- Turtle Rock Studios mentioned that the zombie action game Left 4 Dead will be Xbox 360 exclusive, the PS3 version will no longer appear.
- THQ's tactic first person shooter Frontlines: Fuel of War for Xbox 360 will support up to 50 players online, the game will be released on February 25.
- RUMOR: GamePro reported that Microsoft plans to acquire Epic Games for $1 billion US this summer, after the acquisition Microsoft can also earn licensing fee from Unreal Engine 3.

- Bethesda Softwork's Fallout 3 will be released simultaneously for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 3rd quarter of 2008.
- Toshiba officially announced they will withdraw from the HD-DVD business, production of HD-DVD players, recorders and disk drives will be discontinued by April 2008. Toshiba will continue produce conventional DVD players and recorders.
- Sony's share has raise by 5% after Toshiba's withdrawal from HD-DVD production. Wedbush Morgan Securities mentioned that customers will be more willing to buy a Blu-ray player, and PS3, dubbed as a next-gen console and Blu-ray player will benefit from it; which also means a large increase in PS3 market share.
- The AOU 2008 survey reported that Capcom's Street Fighter IV as the most popular game at the annual arcade show this year with 794 votes, and Banpresto's Mobile Suit Gundam vs Gundam is the second most popular with 450 votes; Square Enix's arcade card game Lord of Vermillion is the 3rd with 330 votes.
- CESA announced this year's Tokyo Game Show will have a new slogan "ready for game time!", to emphasize on how games can be fun for everyone and how games expand from home systems to different aspects of live. CESA expects to have 180,000 visitors this year.
