- Sony posted a 12.9 billion yen (US$ 121.7 million) operating profile from its game division for the quarter between Oct 1, 07 to Dec 31, 07. The profile is achieved by cost reduction of the PS3. Here are the software and hardware sales for the same period.

    - Electronic Arts announced Face Breaker for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, which is a new arcade style boxing game, in which you can use your own facial image on the boxer. The face image deforms when receiving blows.

    - Majesco announced over 1.6 million copies of Cooking Mama for Wii and NDS were sold in US.

    - SNK Playmore announced the arcade fighting game The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match will be released on March 18, 2008.

    - Tecmo announced the horror adventure game Zero: Gesshoku no Kamen [Fatal Frame] is coming to Wii in summer 2008. The game is being developed by Grasshopper Interactive (No More Heroes), and Goichi Suda is the director of the game.

    - Eidos announced a new action RPG called Monster Lab for Wii and NDS, you play the role of a diabolical scientist Bario Mharti, who creates different kinds of monsters with ingredients found during monster hunting. The Wii version will have online duels.

    - UNCONFIRMED: Konami announced a Wii version of the survival adventure game Lost in Blue will be released in August 2008.

    - Square Enix posted a clarification for the rumor from Famitsu that there will be a playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII in 2008. The company stated that there is no current plans for the FFXIII demo as Tetsuya Nomura never made these statements in his interview.

    - Sony has released a new PlayStation 3 Starter Pack in Europe, for Euro 499, which includes the 40GB PlayStation 3, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, and two Sixaxis controllers.

    - Koei announced Musou Orochi: Rebirth of the Demon Lord for PS2, the sequel to last year's Shin Sangoku Musou x Sengoku Musou cross-over action game. This time the game will include 86 playable characters, including Fu Xi and Nu Wa from Shin Sangoku Musou 2; Sasaki Kojiro, Shibata Katsuie, Maeda Toshiie, Chosokabe Motochika and Gracia from Sengoku Musou 2 Moushouden. The game will be released in Japan on April 3, 2008.

    P S P

    - Square Enix will release the PSP RPG Star Ocean: The Second Evolution in Japan on April 2, 2008.

    - UNCONFIRMED: Sony will release a PSP version of the PlayStation Network game flOw in Europe, the PSP version supports up to 4 players wirelessly using Ad Hoc.

    - Sony has released the PSP firmware v3.90, which includes the support of Skype, which allows PSP Slim to use internet phone over WiFi.
