- Sony is planning to reveal the VoIP software Skype for PSP at the upcoming CES 2008.

- United Coders mentioned the studio is currently looking for a US publisher for the PSP version of the 3D action game Dragon's Lair, development will begin in February 2008 and the game is scheduled for release around Christmas 2008.

- Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime Reggie announced in future Wii users will be able to purchase and download Nintendo DS games online. In addition, users will be able to download additional content for NDS games from Wii using WiFi.

- Starting in 2008, Hong Kong enforces a new intellectual property copyright law that prohibits rental, sale, export, exhibit or distribution of devices that bypass copyrights and storage devices/media that infringe copyrights (such as illegal copies of games, flash carts for NDS). It is criminal to display, rent, sell and distribute mod chips, flash carts, and also illegal to modify consoles to bypass copyright protection and distribute illegal ROM images on the Internet.

- Ubisoft announced the open world shooter Far Cry 2 will be coming to Xbox 360 and PS3, the console version will be released in 2009.

- Next-gen.biz reported that Midway and SCi/Eidos are examining possibility of a merge, neither firms have responded to the rumor.

- Naughty Dog vice president Chris Balestra confirmed that the company is planning for a sequel of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, development will begin soon.

- Sega announced a playable demo of Ryuga Gotoku Kenzen [Yakuza 3] will be released on PlayStation Network in mid-January 2008.

- BioWare confirmed that Jade Empire 2 is in development for Xbox 360, but it is uncertain whether the game remains Xbox 360 exclusive, the decision has yet been made by Electronic Arts.

- DigitalSpy revealed that the development costs of Microsoft/Bungie's Halo 3 for Xbox 360 is around 20 millions euro, in additional to several millions euro for marketing.

- RUMOR: Microsoft will reveal plans to license Xbox 360 technology to other firms at CES, for example Toshiba can produce a digital video recorder with built-in hard drive, HD-DVD and Xbox 360.

- Sega will release a budget price version of its Xbox 360 shooter Senko no Ronde Rev.X in Japan on March 6, 2008, for 2940 yen.
