- Sony has officially announced the 40GB PlayStation 3 will appear in Europe on October 10, 2007 for £299. The 40GB model will have two USB 2.0 ports, no multi-memory card slots and no backward compatibility to PS2 games, but PSone compatiblity remains in the system.
- Sony will discontinue PS3 Starter Pack in Europe and replace with PS3 Value Pack for £349, which includes a 60GB PS3, backward compatibility to PS2, one Sixaxis controller and two games.
- Official PlayStation Magazine reported that the Sony ICO team is working on a sequel game for PS3, it is uncertain whether it refers to ICO or Shadow of Colossus.
- Epic Games has pushed back the release date of Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3 to Q1 2008, and due to the delay the PS3 version will incorporate more levels as on the PC version.

- Bungie announced the company has officially splited from Microsoft and become and independent developer. Microsoft will continue to hold a minority stake in the new Bungie LLC.

- Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto announced the company will strengthen development on PlayStation 3 and they are aware the PS2 market remain further attractive. Capcom wants to concentrate on multi-platform development strategy for PS3 and Xbox 360.
- Marvelous Entertainment president Yasuhiro Wada mentioned that the next Harvest Moon title will have online functions, 2 to 8 players can visit the same city in the game. The platform is undecided yet.
- Midway announced they have shipped 1.5 million copies of Straglehold for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

- Nintendo announced they received 700,000 pre-orders of the Wii action game Super Mario Galaxy in Japan, the game will be available in Japan on November 1, 2007.

- Microsoft announced the first week sales of Halo 3 has passed US$300 millions, and the sales of Xbox 360 has doubled. So far over 2.7 million users or 33% of Xbox Live users played Halo 3 over Xbox Live. Halo 3 has sold over 2.6 million copies in US.

- Enterbrain reported that Sony has sold over 580,000 units of Slim PSP in Japan since its launch with Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII in Japan on September 13, 2007. A majority of buyers were women.
