- CESA announced record breaking visitors for Tokyo Game Show 2006, a total of 192,411 visitors have attended the fair for past 3 days, the second highest record is TGS 2005, which has a total of 176,056 attendees.

- SNK Playmore announced that the arcade compilation Metal Slug Anthology for PSP and Wii will now include the latest game Metal Slug 6, in addition to Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4 and Metal Slug 5. Metal Slug Anthology will ship in November 2006.
- Square Enix announced the PSP action RPG Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII will be delivered in Japan in spring 2007.

- Kazunori Yamauchi said the PS3 version of Gran Turismo HD will indeed feature a damage system, it is an optional plug-in that can be downloaded. You can also download stronger AI opponents, additional contents and race courses as updates become available. In future players will be able to setup their own tournaments and chat with other players in the lobby.
- Namco Bandai clarified that there is an error in the TGS catalog published by CESA, the playable demo of Ridge Racer 7 shown at Tokyo Game Show was a 75% completed product, not a 100% finished product. Sega and From Software's Armored Core was not priced at 5,250 yen, there is no official price for the game yet.

- Sega announced Sega Ages 2500: Phantasy Star I, II, III & IV for PS2, a collection of the four classic Phantasy Star episodes in the 8/16-bit era, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series.
G A M E B O Y A D V A N C E
- Square Enix will release Final Fantasy VI Advance for GBA in Japan on November 30, 2006, the game will feature new summon beasts not found in the original version, such as Leviathan.
