Final Fantasy III for GBA
How come nobody mentioned about FF3? Do you think this game would also come to PSone afterward?
Poor Wonderswan, I wonder if it's going to die this year or what, there aren't any new games for the system anymore. |

That's not right, FFII for SNES is FFIV, and FFIII for SNES is FFV in Japan! The FFIII for GBA is the original FFIII in Japan, which was never released in here!
The same thing goes for FFII in Japan, it's also never released in here before! I guess if Square wants to bring out the original FFII and FFIII in here, they better rename the games to stop this kind of confusion.... |

Thanks for the correction. The version GBA is getting is the original FFIII in Japan. It was never released here before. It was Squaresoft USA who screwed up the numbering in the first place, not Square Japan.

It's the Famicom version, with upgraded graphics and the like.
Final Fantasy III on SNES was originally planned to be FFV, but Square ran into trouble or something, and once everything was straightened out, FFVI had came out in Japan already, so they chose to do that one instead. Later, when they wanted to release FFV for SNES still, they were gonna call it FF Extreme (or something like that), but it fell through.

![]() I wonder why Squares spreading out there releases lately. First they announce FFI and II for PSX, without word on FFIII. Now they have it on GBA. I wouldn't be surprised if FFIII got ported to PSX later and/or FFI and FFII to GBA. And FFI was the only NES FF to make it to the states, right?

Yeah, officially. But there were those rom hacks of FFII and FFIII. I only played a couple minutes of each, but FFIII seemed strange as far as I can tell. It uses a class system like FFV

Since these old Final Fantasy games are so "small", why don't they just put all 3 episodes of Final Fantasy into a single cartridge like Phantasy Star Collection?

Is that the same reason for Nintendo to split the Pokemon games into two or three version everytime?? Such a big ripoff!!

Don't tell me you didn't know that!? You know how many peeps I know that have blue and red AND yellow! Not to mention the other ones..
![]() But that's the hook though- each game is different.. just by a bit.. but different nonetheless... getting one of the games (unless you bought them all..then you're just a tool ) is also a statement. I liked blue! ;)I am looking forward to picking one of the new ones coming out for GBA. w00t!

Unlike the Pokemon variations, this is 3 completely differant games.

There are also 3 different games in Phantasy Star Collection.
I guess the difference is that Final Fantasy 1-3 are completely make over from top to bottom, so they treat them as new games, not just a recompilation of old codes like PS Collection. |
