It was 24 episodes, covered everything in the original OVA, while sticking closer to the manga. Delved deeper into the characters.

Its a good show (though the combat took a back-seat which feels odd for The Guyver) However they made it hoping to get another season, but obviously wont. Kind of like Berserk...

It seems they couldn't have concluded the show (Guyver) even if they wanted to.

Checked up a little and Book 25 was released just this year, so he's still drawing it I guess.

Found links to scanlations (fan translated scans) of Books 9-25, if anyone wants...

Sure, Diavle. Hook a brother up.

Yeah, the manga may be ongoing, but I'd at least like the story to go farther than the OVAs (which are old old old, so the comics must have progressed much farther). Perhaps even end at a point that feels satisfying, which many an anime does not.

What do you guys think of the live-action Guyver? The first one's hokiness was very disappointing, but the second movie's phenomenal action scenes and bold take on the origin story were great. Always wished for a third one because I can't get enough live-action sentai.

Oh, and I remember the single-shot OVA Guyver: Out of Control as being pretty rad too, but I haven't seen it since it came out on VHS.

I fairly enjoyed the first one it's was very cheesy as hell but there was something about it that was just fun. It was even more cheesey when I found out the main character was Solid Snake.

Don't remember the second one apart from Mark Hamill turning into a giant slug thing.

I think you have it in reverse. Mark Hamil's stupid transformation (which has to be a reused prop from Naked Lunch or something) took place in the first movie, which also had ill-advised comedic moments, such as Jimmy J. J. Walker's Zoanoid character spouting, "Dynomite!"

Guyver: Dark Hero is the one that takes place in the woods and a bunch of fake caves and stars Tamahome, I mean David Hayter as the Guyver.

The story in the remake actually goes on quite a bit after the OVAs, that was the main reason I kept on watching.

I simply loved the 2nd one, the Guyver costume was perfect (couldn't get over how good it looked) and the fight scenes were pretty damn well choreographed. David Hayter isn't the best actor in the world but having Snake play Guyver really added to the awesome for me.

On a funny note, Guyver's eyes were made from Christmas lights lol.

The story is pretty standard but as expected from Gonzo there's some pretty amazing CGI in Blassreiter.

25 should have just come out this month, unless I am mistaken.
If I am mistaken, then 26 should be out real soon!

And toss me a link, my scantalation page requires a password now...

EDIT: Blassreiter was pretty decent too.

Cobra the Animation [august]

Blade of the Immortal/Mugen no Jūnin [march]

Raoh Gaiden/Ten no Haoh (Fist of the North Star Spin Off) [noidea]

Had no Idea Blade of the Immortal had an anime series coming!

Though I am not too excited about the remaining FotNS films. The last one had such terrible animation I could barely finish it. (Somehow it looked more consistent in 1984...)

Yeah, the new film series is quite a let down, but I have to watch them because it's Fist of the North Star, it fleshes out the characters a tiny bit. However Raoh Gaiden series sounds great, and what I've read in the manga series version it's quite promising. Though the art style is a huge departure of Tetsuo Hara, and I'm not liking that.
