To get a Alienware computer with the latest Nvida card (yes they are selling them now some how) it cost about 600 bucks.

You mean $600 extra if you upgrade to the 6800, not $600 for a computer?

Yeah, plus.... you have to upgrade the power supply too so for the card and the proper powersupply it's about $800 bucks because they suggest a 650 watt power supply and for that matter you can't get the card with out the power supply...

Personally... I wouldn't rush out to buy this card because for one, it seems like it would cost way too much to get all the needed upgrades to get it to run effectively.

Its fairly impressive. But you really dont need this card unless you're rich and dont mind tossing the money away for it. the current generation of video cards are actually more then enough for todays games. They'll keep you running good for the next 3 years easy.
