FLCL and other Gainex releases

Yeah, I've been watching a lot of FLCL(Fuli Culi, Fooly Cooly, Furi Kuri) however you want to pronounce it. Anyways this 6 episode anime kicks major ass. It's so damn funny and I wish Gainex made more.
Anybody else watched this? What do you think?


Also I want to watch more Gainex productions. I know they have released Abenobashi: Magical Shopping Arcade. Has anyone seen this series? If so is it worthy enough to compare the hilarity of it to FLCL? What else has Gainex released?

I think it's crap. It looks nice (animation wise), but not a single episode I saw made a damn bit of sense. More of the usual "deep" crap Gainax likes to do. Evagelion started out pretty good until it took a turn off the deep end. A lot of stuff seems to be doing that these days. Which is probably why I don't watch much anime anymore and have developed a hatred for it and its stuck up fans with their anime is better then any american cartoon bull****. Cartoons are still cartoons no matter where they come from.

The only anime I've ever felt was worth my time to purchase has been Macross stuff, GTO, and Record of Lodoss War (the old one, not the bizarro universe one).

I only noticed once or twice in FLCL where they were trying to push a possible view on the audience.
and since when do cartoons have to make sense? I love watching FLCL because it's so damn spastic and twitchy and there is very few slow moments. Some very funny scenes that I just can't help but to laugh.
The only American Cartoons I have EVER cared for are Looney Tunes from the 1930's, 40's and 50's and the Simpsons. I enjoy watching the occasional episode of King of the Hill but other then that everything else is pure garbage.

So nobody has seen Abenobashi?

FLCL was too odd for my taste, I didn't find too many things funny about it.

I love any form of enteriament if its good to me, or else I wouldn't have over 500 dvds as I type this

and I love the crazy like animes, they just seem to keep me assmused more then the others

but I love Mecha/superhero animes the best!

espically the older Super Robot animes, like Mazinger Z!

but anyone who has seen the whole series knows that (even tho it isn't a anime) that the Kamen Riders are one of the coolest series EVER! espically Kamen Rider 555 and Kamen Rider Ryuki!
I love those shows!

espically 555, nothing beats the fights when Kamen Rider Faiz has to use his Accel Gear to make his henshin suit go into hyper mode and move 100 times faster then normal!

muAHHA I loved the movie the best Kamen Rider 555 : Paradise Lost, where Faiz has to fight a 100 foot tall monster! now that was damn cool! espically the fights with the evil Riders!

No, it doesn't matter but they generally are about diffirent things American newer cartoons always semm to bore the hell outta me. Bring back the days of G.I.Joe and Defenders Of The Earth I say.

and whoever the **** was bitching about anime fans they are like everyone else. some fake it. some are obsessive trolls who believe they are the one TRUE fan and some suffer from no chemical imbalance at all and just like the stuff.

i happen to be an anime fan who loves animation as a whole. whether it's gainax or disney, just gimmie a good story with characters i can love and hate.

and I love animation cause I love watching cartoons ever since I was little, what got me liking all this stuff is Spider-Man since I was 1, my mom said I was hooked when I saw reruns of the 60's Spider-man! and today I have a collection of spider-man that has over 1000 items! I got a mini Muesum hehe

I must be twisted, cause FLCL made sense to me...
well... the second time i watched it anyways.
But it was the same crap with Chrono Cross and i didnt hear anyone complaining...
Im an anime/manga fan myself, so i like many animes, but im not hardcore enough to be keeping a hold of wich studio did what in everyone of them.
