Gaa!!! That sucks ass! I guess if you want everything you MUST mod your PS2. Fuck SCEA. Man I bet Working Designs is pissed. Someone needs to get Victor Ireland onto this forum.
The title of this thread should be "disapproved" not "approved", but since I posted you can't change it now. Only Alucard in all his (His?) might can change it. |

Some of those games suck @ss & look like it, but I don't see Sony's reasoning for many of them.
Gio Gio's Bizarre Adventure looked cool and Psyvariar was supposed to be up there with Ikuraga in terms of quality

which slaps someone on these boards silly...someone has a post that any 3-d game will get approved even if it sucks......they supposedly have an friend in the industry......well i hope someone feels stupit...ahhaha stupit...and a lot of those rumored blocks are by capcom...boy thier is another post on here about sony never saying no to capcom...boy i know some of you feel dumb right now.......this is too hilarious

Oh and another thing, that happened almost 2 years ago. Now I know I might get a couple of puzzled looks for what I just said, but sadly it's true. I for one am a huge Jojo fan, but I admit it doesn't sell well. Either b/c little is known about Jojo in America or Vanilla Ice challenged every gamers heterosexuality way harder than Alucard on Castlevania ever did, so people stayed home and not played first DC game. I for one couldn't care less as a fan how a Jojo game would sell, as long as I get my copy. But if SCEA wouldn't care either, Capcom certainly would. So for now, until Jojo gets a bigger audience in America, Jojo will stay in Japan or Europe. |

If that list sticks then I'll be super annoyed. I was really looking forward to Glass Rose. Hopefully worst case scenario its released in Europe. I aint importing the japanese version. No point when story is involved. People say whats worse, Sony blocking 2D or 3D games. I ask you, wtf are they blocking games at all? They dont MAKE them. They dont publish ALL of them. **** off SCEA, you have zero business blocking games. |

I am even more pissed off. By reading what you said, I never have thought of that intil you said, intil now. That is very true that they don't make the games. So why are they blocking them? They are very money hungry company. ( I am thinking of buying an Xbox now)

You know, I wonder how come this situation hasn't surfaced at Nintendo. I think there's a load of games staying in Japan for the GC and that back in the N64 days, we're lucky to even being able to have played Mischief Makers and Mystical Ninja. But no Syn and Punishment or Evangelion. Maybe we should also consider that certain 3rd party developers don't have an american branch and certain american publishers won't be interested in picking these games up. Though unfortunately on that list I think Shadow Tower and Y's are the only games being blocked that fall into that category. And looking at this list again, I doubt SCEA would do soemthing so stupid and block Killer 7. FUCKING KILLER 7, THE GAME WHERE YOU PLAY AS KEVIN SMITH!! |

ohh god..its a company with a standard of game and game content release....err idiot..nintendo and microsoft has one....its called quality control.....they wont release violent games on the cube (like for years now on old nintendo systems..or without serious altering...remember mortal kombat and the sweat instead of blood a midway game).....other companies cut and cancell gemes everyday..you just dont know about it....somone who feels strongly about some of those games dug that list up...... answer me this also what company isnt money hungry..let me guess...microsoft.... the company under federal investigation for illegal practices....the same guys you say your going to go buy one of thier consoles.....hypocrite.......if you buy an xbox..youll be only hurting yourself... all in all i am upset that some of those games are going to be cut...but...like i said earlier they wont sell....would you stock your store with stuff no one buys....that would also take away from the stuff i am trying to sell...... still i would really like to play jojo..been looking forward to it..y's also..since i have em on my turboduo..but i guess i will have to import

Before you start making out Sony to be either saints or victim of society, I'll bring up a few for you. Quality control? Explain Twin Calibur. I dont think theres one person in the world that can like this game. You seriously have to be epileptic to enjoy it because the controls are SO shoddy that having no control of your own limbs would most likely make this game somewhat playable. As for censoring, you think green blood is a problem? How about in a simple 2D fighting game, King of Fighters. Mai's breasts dont bounce no more. Sure you could say thats SNKs fault, but the neogeo system you can switch it to japanese and the breasts are bouncing again. So why remove it. Half sony, half American society. The last game I remember being censored was Xenosaga. You need to learn how to criticize a company you like.

Ikaruga probably didn't sell well on Gamecube because anybody that cared already had it for Dreamcast.
Also, Jojo's Bizzare Adventure on Dreamcast is wayyy different from the PS2 one. The Dreamcast one is a fighting game that got some pretty bad reviews, if I remember correctly. The PS2 one was a very cool-looking action game. The disapproval of Kengo II surprises me...I thought that would've been a sure release here. I was looking forward to playing it. I kind of wonder why Sony imposes these "quality control" checks, anyway. Is it so that they can have this shining line-up of blockbuster titles, with no blemishes? Or do they justify it by saying that they are saving developers the trouble of losing money by releasing a game that isn't going to make it? I mean, "quality control" certainly makes it sound like SCEA wants to walk into any game shop and see nothing but SUREFIRE AAA GOLDEN HITS on their shelf. They especially want name-power gracing their game library. From what we can assume by their quality-control practices, they practically turn a blind eye if it's a sequel to a popular franchise (TOMB RAIDER). However, I see from the list that SCEA's quality control did do a good job once. CHARLIE'S ANGELS got canned thanks to them...that deserves praise. However, why didn't all the other stupid movie-based games get blocked? It still stands that maybe Sony shouldn't be making these marketing decisions for 3rd parties. If Capcom wants to try and sell GREGORY HORROR SHOW here, why try to stop them? Sony is going to charge them a fee for publishing a game on PS2, anyway. If it bombs, that's Capcom's problem...any good company should learn from their mistakes. Have their OWN quality control. So..............what's the cheapest/best way to mod your console for import-playing? |
