Ok, I wanted to draw some cartoon/comic characters again so made this comic really fast. Well, it really took me a few mins to come up with a idea, a few hours to draw the characters and posses and then 5 hours or more to make the comic all work in photoshop. Enjoy, oh and it's just a joke. It's not meant to bash the PSP or anything.

In case you missed it, Ken Kawasaki of Sony, who designed the PSP, said basically the same thing as the guy said in the first panel, and also that people are stupid to complain about something that is s beautifully designed. Also, the PSP was designed by God as revealed on Southpark.

How do you draw that stuff with the varying line thicknesses, Reality? Illustrator? I could never draw that well with my mouse.

Oh I understood it. I think it was stupid what Sony actually said that.

I should have been more specific.

Well the God joke came from the Sony PSP warranty. As the unit isn't covered by "Acts of God". So whatever happens, it can be by God, and they don't have to cover it. http://www.us.playstation.com/suppor...?id=warranties Now the lines were simple enough to make. You just use the pen too. Like shown in this site. http://sen.monkey-pirate.com/t_ink.html

Reality, that Tutorial page is for Windows. There is no way to set the point size for the pen tool on the Mac version of Photoshop that I can find. Also, when I right click that STROKE option is always greyed out. There is no way for me to get lines, instead it fills in the space between the two points (useless). How do I get lines? Is there perhaps a better tutorial somewhere?

OK I think I've figured it out, but how do you start a new line? All new anchors want to point to the other anchors. Also, how do you get rid of the anchors? Even if I delete the layer, all of the pen markings and anchors are still there. Also, that tutorial says "XD" a lot. What is "XD"? I cannot find this function in Photoshop.

the latest at form i've indulged in is lighting. I'm now the light tech. for a local theater group and only now do I understand the beauty behind it. Next time you go to see a well polished play pay attention to the light ques: how they draw attention to piticular things and speculate why. Think about the timming of cross-fades and think about how that effects the mood. Colours and colours!

Heres my pic of Fire Convoy from Transformers Car Robots anime, Optimus Prime over here from the Robots in disguise that came out in 2001, I loved the design to the Car Robot transformers this is just a sketch I did while I was bored in school so its really messy haha

so I put it on the computer and cleaned it up

I'm currently drawing up designs for my own oringal super hero comic book, but that I'm not posting anything of cause I'm trying to see if I can get it professionally done, I'm writing it right now, I restarted tons of times on it, has I've keep coming up with new better ideas that will impact the story better, been working on it for 2 years and I've only got like 200 pages of dialog done hehe

Yeah I had this trouble too when I was starting out. I never found a tutorial that showed Mac buttons and actions in detail so I had to read and fiddle till I figured things out.

To use the pen tool, first make sure you have the brush tool size you want. Ok, now select the pen tool , click on the spot you want to start at (We'll call it point A) and drag your mouse down to the area you want to stop at (this will be point B). Now, you just made this line, but it's not a finished line to the logic of photoshop. To make it a completed line, click on the dot at Point B. That dot is actually a diamond shape and when you successfully click on it, it'll be come a larger square shape. So look for that any time your not sure if you clicked on it right.

You got now a complete line. Lets say though you don't want it to be straight. In my art, I bend my lines a lot for style reasons. To do the same, hold down the apple key, click on your line, and move your censor to the middle. The things your going to notice first is that the censor arrow changed and now you have this little dot moving up and down the line. While still holding the apple key, press on and drag that little dot around. By moving it left, right, up and down you'll notice your line is arching in any angle your censor is at. Once you have something you want, let go of both the apple key and mouse button.

Now normally I just ink the lines as I make them. To do that hold down the Crtl key (right click for everyone else) and click on your line. In the menu that comes up, select Stroke Supbath. In the small window that pops up, make sure you brush tool is selected. You'll also notice a little box that lets you select "Simulate Pressure", that doesn't need to be check marked for this, so don't select it. Once this is all done, press ok. Now your line is instantly inked. To get rid of pen markings that is connecting to any and all anchors you made, simply press enter while the pen tool is still selected.

This is just the basic stuff and there is much more you can do with inking then this. Now, pretty much all tutorials are written for Window's Photoshopers, but once you learn the keys, you can read any of them and improvise just fine. Oh and just to note, "XD" is just a keyboard smile. X is the eyes and D is the smile. When put together it makes a "Ha!"type face. It's just something to lighten a readers mood up or something. XD :???:

Mind boggling. I just tried to snap a digital picture of a piece of artwork drawn by me and the friggin' battery died! I'll have up a picture by tommorrow.

Here's an anatomical study I did. Although the lighting didn't come out to the best effect it could've, it does show my talent from back when I was 17.
