With a 97, this is what I have to say from the review:
The Queen is Dead, Long live the King. Now that maybe a confusing statment but bare with me, back four months ago Metroid Prime was crowned the Queen (remember Samus is a hottie under that suit) of the Cube... but now 4 months later, with the release of Nintendo's next Triple-A title, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, the King is dead and a new Toonish Cel-shaded king has claimed the throne... Sorry Samus, maybe Prime 2 can reclaim that for ya. Here's the Low down and pro/cons of Wind Waker. The Lowdown A stunning video game that comes as close to perfection as any other. Pros Incredible design, balance, visuals, sound and gameplay; engrossing story; highly polished; superb controls; excellent learning curve; one of the finest games to date. Cons (and some pretty nit picky cons I might add) It's hard to find fault but some may dislike the Toon Shading; no widescreen mode; some aspects are a little repetitive; needs a GBA with link cable to get ALL the secrets. Well there you have it folks, GameSpy give it there best score I've seen to date for any platform. Just goes to show all you idiots that think realistic looking graphics don't always=a good game... some times all you need is good old Game Play to get a near perfect score. Souce: GameSpy Link to Review: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

I'm surprised it scored higher than IGN. Is Gamespot review what I'm worried about now.

The GBA part is a pretty big Con if you ask me! i don't have a GBA yet, even if I did have 1, I don't think I would be able to get a GBA GC connection cable here in Egypt.

Gamespot says:
Difficulty: EASY I don't like the sound of that. Since when Zelda games have been easy?

You've got a point, the problem is I'd have to pay another $20 just to transfer the 10 to his account!! Maybe if I use Paypal to order the wire straight to his place... We'll see about that when I get a GBA!
When you come to think of it... it's a problem at all... OoT had the same issue with the Rumble Pak (Stone of Agony) remember! :big smile

Wasnt there a way around having the rumble pack?
I believe the game got a 9.6 from IGN.com and a 9.3 from Gamespot.com

As for Zelda: WW's diffiiculty, that isn't a problem. Many called Zelda OOT and Majora's Mask easy too. I find the new Zelda games to be very assesible to a large audeince, not a Luigi's Mansion cake walk.
Very pleased with all the reviews coming out. Hopefully this will persuade stubborn cel-haters to try the game out. |
