Sega's Valkyria Chronicles is coming to PC

Quote:
Sega appears to have a PC port of Valkyria Chronicles in the works, according to a recent rating listed by European classification authority PEGI.

The tactical role-playing game initially released on PlayStation 3 in 2008, and garnered a cult following on the back of its lush, watercolor-like visuals and imaginative combat system. While by no means a chart topper, Valkyria Chronicles was a modest success, leading to a pair of sequels on PSP, the second of which (tragically) never made it out of Japan.

Valkyria Chronicles draws inspiration from World War II, taking place in a small, peaceful nation caught up in a conflict between two neighboring superpowers. The series focuses on small ragtag groups of soldiers who, against all odds, always seem to find a way to repel the invaders spilling over their borders.

Hopefully the game finds a new audience on PC, because it sure would be nice to see Sega make (and localize!) a few more of these wonderful, beautifully awesome things.

If this goes well, maybe Sega would bring Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 as well?

Still have the PS3 version sitting in my bookcase unopened. I really should get around to giving it ago.

You monster! Play it! One of the best strategy games I've played in a long time. I've beaten every single mission in one turn that's how good I got at it, for the first one and 2nd game, I haven't played the 3rd yet.

If this is true I am buying this right away. I really loved this game. Sadly my PS3 broke and I am unable to play it anymore.

Now if only Skies of Arcadia could come out on PC so people could mod it..

The first game is good, but the second and third adopted a more monster hunter' esque grind based design. I definitly didnt like the sequals as much and they seemed contrived by the PSP hardware.
Would be good if this was a sign of the series getting a new start on the TV/PC screen.

Never open it! NEVAR! Sell it for MEGABUCKS in 15 years! Unless it's the UK version. Then go ahead open it because UK games are rarely worth much. American copies of games are always worth more because of freedom, apple pie and Hulk Hogan.
