Using Steam on Mac

Somebody asked me this:

Quote:
I was wondering if you could help me out, do you know if Steam for mac's allow gamepads? I have a wired 360 controller that I want to use to play some games, but I don't want to buy games that I cannot use the controller on, I downloaded some software that is supposed to work, but uncertain on how to use it, any help would be greatly appreciated
Anybody here know the answer? Drunken Savior maybe?

I don't know. But I would direct him to the steam forums. Seems there is some support for popular pads, like the 360 pad...but others will require a little creativity.

Steam has nothing to do with game controller support. What matters is that the game on steam mac supports gamepads, and he has the correct mac driver loaded for his 360 pad.

yah chronos is right. Just matters if you can find drivers for them.

360 and PS3 controllers work just fine on a Mac, when I got my macbook pro, the first thing I did was test out Portal, your cloud saves might get corrupted, but PS3/360 controller support is A-OK.
