Apple announces the new Macbooks.

Video showcasing the new unit.
http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/#macbookpro

And while there is little to no Mac users on this forums its important for everyone to eye this one over. Why? Cause like it or not whatever Apple does right now is how your windows computers will look and feel tomorrow. So might as well get a sneak preview.

i was a mac user up until 2 years ago when i built a gaming PC

in saying that, i have pre-ordered one of these new Macbook Pro, just cos I wanted one lol

still going to upgrade my gaming PC for future gaming tho, but i see myself gaming less these days (if its not Diablo 3 related), so this new MBP will suit me fine

If Macs could play all the games available on Windows, I might consider it since I love OSX. But as is, I'm not going to shell out that much money for what is primarily going to be a work-laptop. But at least, as Reality said, Apple is pushing higher resolution screens. 1800 resolution does look awfully nice.

Screw the new laptop, tell us about the iphone 5. My iphone 4 is on its last legs and I don't want a 4s since it is the same phone I already have.

Well, there is also to option for Boot Camp. You simply install a copy of Windows on a different partition on your SDD and boot into it anytime you want to use something only available for Windows. I do that for a paint program called SAI.

True. Have you heard anything regarding people who use their Macbook Pros as gaming laptops by doing that? I'll take a look for myself later.

They have to support it, so unless every game company is going to do it, you won't really see that much of a difference.

It does well. Not outstanding of course. It is after all a laptop but it performs better than most other machines with the same/similar specs. I played games on mine several times. L4D and Team Fortress 2.

As I often find the case with Apple nowadays, since I'm one of the people who don't think the sun shines out of Apple's arse, I love the tech behind it and would be happy to have one, more than happy even, but there's no cat in hell chance I'm going to buy it at that price. Way too expensive for what it does.

They seem to be catering this Mac more towards Gaming since I read the article on Kotaku showing it running Diablo 3 at insane high res, but very little people buy a Mac with intent to game on it so it's not like there's even a huge market out there. Even with Windows on the laptop, so I knew every game would at least work on it, still no way in hell I'll pay that price for it. That resolution also seems a bit wasted on a small screen.

So thumbs up for the technology but thumbs down for everything else.
