Too bad Vita doesn't have any sort of video out options. Also, portable game systems are also extremely low resolution. They wouldn't even take up the entire screen in standard definition, so they'd look like ass. And good luck getting a Nintendo portable to work on a TV. They make sure to throw in enough gimmicks to make it unfeasible.

Theres a special psp to tv out cable you can get that transfers picture and sound. It gives you normal resolution and also a double boost one. So while it may not take up the entire screen, it takes up a good amount. And the picture is surprisingly good. My friend had one of the previous gundam games and the motion and speed and everything looked fine. I'd even go as far as saying it looked better than a Wii game would. I dont know how thats possible. Could of been just that game.

Remotejoy takes up the entire screen and it looks just fine IMO. Although the downside is not every single PSP game is compatible with it, but most are.
