I figured you were. But, in general its a setup more expensive and more complicated to get. It also doesnt save you from the windows crashes, viruses, spy/ad/malwares, or the optimization of the game for your parts.

The console works perfectly and you dont have to worry about anything else. You sit down and play/enjoy. Thats why its popular.

under vista windows crashed a lot yeah .. and xp .. but windows7 to be fair to it has never once crashed on me .. ever, and i have sw to protect me from viruses, spy/ad/malwares etc .. and i've never had an issue.

I've never had any issues either. And that's not me exaggerating, I've literally never had any problems with Windows 7 crashing. The only crashing I get in games is switching graphic settings at times when playing the game, but that's my fault, not Windows' or the game's fault. It's very old-fashioned to say Windows always crashes, should get that out of your head. We're quite advanced in the 21st century, believe it or not.

And we could say the same about Xbox 360s tbh. Remember that failure rate? It was about 50% at one time. But it's not like that anymore, so we don't say it; and that's exactly the same case for Windows always crashing. It just doesn't anymore.

But yes, we all conceded it's more expensive and more complicated. But more doesn't necessarily mean very, since it's not that complicated. You could build a Gaming PC following a step-by-step guide on Google in about 10 - 20 mins, and then setting up Windows and your drivers is just installing programs like everyone does on their PCs. You do that once, and then everything is better. Small price to pay imo. Plus you'll save money in the long-run anyway, it's just the initial price which is high.

just a shame MS charge £100 for the shitty OS to be able to play games on it

.. a £600 rig suddenly become 700 thanks to MS .. the sooner linux changes enough to run games the better .. its coming in the next 5 years tbh with the way the kernels are changing .. would be awesome to play pc games and do away with windows .. sooooooooooooooooo awesome

The OS isnt just for games though as you can do a lot with it. But I do wish it were cheaper. Some places give you win7 for free though with every full pc. Others give a massive discount on the software.

You can do shit loads with Ubuntu and that bad boy is free .. and yeah you get a free os when you buy a pre built system .. but if you build it yourself you still have to pay for it .. and its £100 for Home Prem here.

and a £100 for Windows take the piss tbh when Ubunto is free and Apple charge £20 for there new OS's.

They REALLY need to sort the price out with 8 .. but i suspect they won't.
