Kepler is "Clear Winner" Against AMD

Quote:
AMD might be in for a dogfight when Nvidia's Kepler architecture leaves the porch. Early reports suggest Nvidia has a real winner on its hands and that Kepler is such a strong performer, even Nvidia's mid-range cards will give AMD's high-end GPUs a run for their money. The information available is vague and scattered, but it all points to Nvidia stealing back the performance crown.

Charlie Demerjian, who has a long history of being critical of all things Nvidia, sang some high praise for Kepler over at SemiAccurate. According to Demerjian, Nvidia is going to "win this round on just about every metric" with its Kepler architecture, which will trump AMD's Tahiti "handily." Those remarks come after spending hands-on time with a pair of Kepler-based graphics cards and collecting "hard information," though he isn't allowed to share specific benchmarks just yet.

Demerjian's reveal jibes with information information leaked by Chinese website Inpai.com.cn, which is claiming Nvidia's mid-range cards will have the moxie to challenge AMD's higher end GPUs. According to Inpai, Kepler's GK104 architecture will sport a 256-bit interface, 2GB of onboard memory, and have a 225W TDP.
Oooooo I can't wait!

I've got 1 560Ti. Zero plans to upgrade for a few years. Everything runs awesome.

I've just bought myself another GTX 460, so once I nab a Motherboard to replace my fucked one, I'll have a nice SLI 460 system which will be monstering anything. Cheap as hell too. Woo.

I might upgrade to these next year though. My system is quite old in regards to the parts and probably doesn't have much life to it. Might build myself an all new system when these things release, if they're as good as this guy says.

I love my 560 also, my brother was playing WOW on my PC, and it was giving him 0 fps in BG and I was surprised about that cause his old PC is a piece of crap and it runs WOW just fine the lowest it went was 20 fps, so when he told me my computer sucked I smacked him in the side of the face and looked at it.

I didn't know this, but for some reason, if it's set to DX9 on Windows 7, it shits out, I switched it to DX11 it runs perfectly now, it's on Ultra settings and giving out 80-150 FPS in open world now. Matters how many people are around.

How about Nvidia just release their cards instead of spurring these "reports" or rumours. Either way, the cards are gonna push down prices overall (a good thing so im happy). Then I won't have to wait much longer to get a new card depending on benchmarks.

I'm sad, DDR4 won't be out till 2014 now, it was supposed to come out this year but they delayed it. Oh well.
