Well the Wii version has nearly been in development for 4 years so that's not a surprise by the time it makes it to the west both versions will most likely be ready.

This will be huge for Wii U. Nintendo should push for a Wii U launch window with this one. They already have the game assetes, A graphical upgrade should be worked on ASAP.

What i'm wondering about is the social features..Will there be friend codes on the wii? How will the handle the online play,and DLC?

The screen do look great. The Wii U version will be in HD and make me drool..1080p FTW!

It could easily end up running at 720P on Wii U. We don't know much about the hardware specs yet.

That's disappointing.

Not as disappointing as a broken link. Of course you need a internet connection to play some of it the multiplayer part but the you can still go through the whole game offline.

While Dragon Quest X is an online game, players can go through 100% of it solo. Instead of partnering with player characters you can add NPCs to a party. You can meet other players at a tavern, just like Dragon Quest IX. The maximum number of characters you can travel with is three. Dragon Quest X uses a traditional combat system with command menus. After a set amount of time passes, your character can act again. Combat takes place directly on the field without a transition to a battle screen. Other player characters appear translucent and they can aid your party. A monster’s name changes color as its takes damage, so players have an idea how weak it is.

No, that's not what it says.

It says Online Connection Required to Play All of Dragon Quest X

Only first few hours can be played offline, according to Square Enix support page.

During today's Dragon Quest X press conference, producer Yousuke Saito said that the game can be played 100% on your own, meaning you don't necessarily have to play with others. However, this doesn't appear to mean that the game can be played without going online.

Square Enix addressed the issue of the game's online system at its support page today. In a brief response to the question "Is it not possible to play without an internet connection," the support page says "It's possible to play offline for the first few hours after the start of the game. However, to play all elements of the game, an internet connection is required."

They were saying it's possible to complete the game alone, with bots in your party. But it is not possible to complete the game offline.

That is disappointing.

OK, now that your link works I can see what you mean but while a little annoying still not really a problem as long as you can play through the whole game solo aswell as in a party.
