I'm not quite sure what u mean as there were zombies on all games. You mean you want slow walking brain dead zombies? It sounds like everyone will then moan about how the game is too easy.

Getting the fear and scares back is all dependant on atmosphere and sound not slow walking zombies.

RE4 was fucking terrible and I never bothered with RE5.

I want a game with zombies. A game that has genuine atmosphere and is genuinely scary. Something the current games are not.

Your playing the wrong series if you want creepy/scary. Slow moving zombies just aren't great anymore even with the older Resident Evil games they got better when the Hunters and the Chimeras turned up.

Not really. REmake is still one of the creepiest/scariest games for me. If they give us no ammo and make the zombies tough as hell and nail the atmosphere, slow zombies are still scary. Scarier, even. The slow, shuffling footsteps are just the creepiest thing around. I just want a RE in the same style as 1, 2, and 3.

To be fair, those games are only scary because they have poor controls. When you know you probably won't be able to escape a licker because of the stupid tank controls, it's more stressful than scary. The only scary moment I can think of in the entire series are when the dogs jump out at you through the window in 2. Beyond that, it's usually just running around shuffling zombies while trying to find awkwardly placed keys.

The Resident Evil devs should be looking towards games like Amnesia for new ideas opposed to making their games barely functional 3rd person shooters (or SOCOM with zombies).

your assuming they havent started yet. or just started .. i'd put good money on this being in development for a good few years ... and they could easily start from scratch and release in that time .. would suprise me if they started as soon as they were done with 5

totally agree .. not scary at all .. i've never understood why people found them scary .. great games though none the less.

the original silent hill was way scarier than any RE game .. and they were more fucked up than scary tbh

No way. Tank controls were fine when you learned to use them.

When I played the resident evil games I wasn't scared 24/7 like I was with say, Dead Space, but I liked that. There were scares here but I wasn't peeing my pants the entire game.

I don't want the RE series to be like Amnesia.

I'm assuming they started working on it last year since thats when RE5 gold edition got released. They took 4 or 5 years to finish RE5 so yeah, unless they started working on it sooner i dont see how they could have time to work on a new engine and release it soon.

not a chance they spent a solid 4-5 years on re5 . not a chance in hell .. its the re4 engine in HD ..

I believe it ran on the MT framework. RE4 obviously didnt as its a previous gen game.

The game is definitly much more than just RE4 in HD. Theres alot of detail and animations in there.

And the game was first announced in 2005. You obviously werent antecipating it since you didnt feel the time it took for it to come out.

Every capcom game in the past 5 years has been made on MT framework 2.0

The only one that kind of wasn't was Dead rising 2, and that still used a modified version of it.

for me they clearly started with the re4 engine and add hd, extra animation etc .. nothing new about it at all apart from the visuals.

just because it was 'announced' it doesnt mean they were workign on it .. Smash Btros WiiU prime xample game announced but they are not working on it ..." hay .. FF15 is coming" .. there you go .. samething ..

and i was looking forward to Re5 .. but sadly i wanted more than Re4 in HD with lame tacked on co-op for the sake of it
