Fucking awesome. I really wish Blizzard would make CG films. They are gods at CG and story. Next week is starcraft week!

I could have sworn I read something about them making a world of warcraft movie?

I think they're making plans, but it'll most likely be a live action one or animated. Chances of a CG Arthas running around would just be too much for my balls to handle.

That was exactly my thought. I never really got into Starcraft, but the CG from Starcraft 2 made me wish it was a full movie. I'll have to watch them on youtube.

I'm planning on getting it at midnight.

Just saw this, a bit old.

Does StarCraft II Require An Internet Connection?
Last we'd heard, StarCraft II was playable offline, but the box art for Wings of Liberty clearly states "Internet Connection Required." Has there been a change in plans?

Screenshots distributed at BlizzCon last year had us questioning whether or not StarCraft II would require an internet connection to play. The launch screen for the game contained a Battle.net login prompt, leading fans already concerned with the game's lack of LAN support to worry over lack of online support as well.

Blizzard's Rob Pardo set us straight that weekend, saying, "You can play in offline mode if you want - I just don't think you're going to want to," suggesting the online features you'd be giving up are too appealing to miss.

Now the box art is telling us that both an internet connection and a Battle.net account are required to play. What gives?

We contacted Blizzard's Bob Colayco, who clarified the situation for us.

"An initial activation check-in is required, which we also have been mentioning since BlizzCon and even before that. The campaign and other solo aspects of the game are still playable offline after your initial activation."

That seems completely reasonable, doesn't it? I mean, if you don't have access to the internet whatsoever, how are you reading this? Your phone? Don't be ridiculous, phones don't have the internet.

So what's different this time around? A number of beta testers said it pretty much stays the same as the first Starcraft with just a few new changes and additions, but nothing major.

We dont want it to be massively different. The original had everything down pretty epicly. Also fuck midnight launches. I'll go the next day in my own comfortable time since I have it preordered.

You're right. They aren't that fun because all the hype is forced upon you by some retail store who could careless about anything besides your money. I try and go to all of them, but the internet is so much more comfortable when buying games.

I wasn't into SC until a few years ago when I had a PC that could run it. This time I hope I get a full experience. When you're late playing something like SC, its typically been hyped beyond belief. Can't say the same about Diablo.
