How many of you eat peanuts with the shells on?

Last night I got a bag of peanuts and was eating them in the car. Seeing as there was no real way of throwing the shells out (because there were cops around) I decided to eat the peanuts with the shells still on. I know that it has it's negative effects, but this is my first time eating them like that so I'm sure it's not harmful yet. On the other hand it's a big source of fiber. So any of you eat them like that? On a related note I did use to eat salted roasted pumpkin seeds with the shells still on.

No, i haven't tried that.

But i remember a steak house in Colorado Springs where everyone throwed the shells on the floor. All you could hear was the crunching of the shells as people walked back and forth. It was quite normal i was told, at least for that steak house.

I remember a restaurant chain that did that here...Roadhouse Grill, I think. Kind of weird.

Peanuts sounds a bit like penis. Loooool.

I've never ever tried them with the shells on but then, peanuts aren't exactly a treat, and I doubt with the shells on, that'd change.

About the only time I eat peanuts is at the ballpark, without the shells though.

I've done it both ways. Same with Sunflower seeds.

Eating the shell isn't horrible and certainly is less work and convenient when you have nowhere to throw the shells, but I think the nut by itself tastes better.

Plus very rarley you will chew a hard peice of shell the wrong way and it will stab the gums in between your teeth. That hurts really bad.

There was a bar in Chicago we went to on my friend's bday and they did the same thing. Each table had a hug basket of peanuts and all around u see shells on the floor. I guess because it's fairly easy just to sweep it up at the end of the night.

Yeah it's more convenient but does taste better without it. And yes it does hurt when they get between your teeth. Even more so for me because I have almost no spacing in my teeth so i would need dental floss and not just a toothpick or brushing.

You're obviously carrying the peanuts around in some way. Put the shells back whatever container or bag you have them.

Around this area you'll be surprised what they'll get you for. Even if it's something decomposable/bio-degrable , if a cop catches you throwing it out the window it's considered littering.

While that's true some don't like throwing the shells back in and have to dig around for a while through empty shells to find an uneaten one. But usually when I'm eating peanuts I tend to have something else empty to throw the shells in, but last night was a particular time when I didn't.

I called up NASA. After several simulations and trial runs, they suggest: using a garbage sack, eating peanuts with the shells already removed, or to stop eating while you drive. Either one of those will save you at least 2 hours of oxygen for the return trip back to Earth, from the Moon.

I never tried eating with the shell one. It does not sound very pleasant. I can do sunflower seeds with the shell.

Never tried peanuts with the shell on. I would guess its not to different from eating an orange, or lemon, with the rind still on.
