Why wouldn't stores be open on Good Friday? The whole world isn't Catholic.
Nintendo releases there games on Friday's now. They used to release them on Sunday so all the kids wouldn't ditch school, or something like that. to get there gamez'. |

Yeah it's the same in the UK I believe it's against the law to open on Good Friday. If it's not the case in North America then it doesn't matter if they release it on a Friday.

Yeah there's no Law stopping you being open on Good Friday. I've seen more stores stay open than close.

indeed the chains will be open but a lot of independent shops will be closed

Lots of stores break street dates, it's nothing new. It's how pirated copies end up on the Internet a few days before release. Never understood why they just can't wait, but whatever.

...because if it's fairly well known they'll get more customers if players know they can get there games early there's one online store that you'll always get your games on the Tues/weds instead of the friday release date.

Yeah, but I hear Nintendo is shipping it much later than the actual release date.
I'm not thrilled with EBGames either, but it's better than not getting the game.
