I think you just identified yourself as a nerd!

Anyway, I think the term "hardcore gamer" is pretty lame. When I think of gamers, I think of casual videogamers and videogamers. Videogamers are the ones who buy and play lots of games, come to forums like this one and keep up with the scene at least a little. Casual gamers are those who don't play very much, obviously. I suppose "hardcore gamers" would be those who take videogaming to the next level, buying every system, buying most of the popular games, setting aside tons of time to play those games, knowing tons of developer names (people, not just companies) and really get into it. They think about games more than any other single entity.

anyways I've come close to buying a wii Several times, the price went down, I'm considering it again. But then I see all the wii owners who are just plain unhappy with it.

Sin and Punishment 2 is probably the best case for the wii as is Tatsunoko VS Cacpom

but TVC needs NEEDS Samurai Pizza cats

The Hardcore to me are the ones that play Fighters and Shmups.

of course I play other stuff but Shmups and Fighters are my fave.

Well that's where the problem is, a lot of people go by what they think others think of a game. I personally don't give a crap, thus why I don't read reviews. I read them mainly to see what would be in a game before playing it.

I would just say a hardcore gamer is someone who has been gaming for a long time. Not the ones who pick up an Xbox360, buy loads and loads of games, play all day, and claim to be hardcore. >.> No, not hardcore, just a no-life moron.

But I do think this summarises 'gamers' quite well. Read and learn.

Actually the Wii is my favorite console of this generation.
It's like an mini arcade cab.

X360 and PS3 retail games don't do it for me. I mostly enjoy the X360 and PSN games more.
