Cisco Certification

I've decided for now I'm dropping getting my C++ certification and am going for CCNA instead. Has anyone here gotten theirs (Or maybe their CCENT) and can give me some pointers as to what to study for? I ordered a kit from Amazon ( link ). I'm trying to save as much money as possible (moving to California mid to late next year) and any free online material would be a great help as well.

If you work at google, we can hang out! I live 1 hour away from google! Alot of my friends work at Google so I'll make sure they treat you well. Of course, Google employs world-class chefs for their Cafeteria so I'm sure you'll be fine there.

what did u find dry about it? I was originally going to go for CCENT instead but I figured i'd do CCNA because it's more... "advanced" so at least i'd be a step up with that and then eventually go for CCNP. I've been googleing as much as i could for stuff to help, but there's things that people have found that i didn't find in google (not related to cisco, but just things in general), so i thought maybe someone had that goldmine that they've found.

Did you check the job market for CCNA? Before I got into my current major I checked the job scene.

if your in IT .. is pointless checking the job sense .. as the demand always changes so rapidly .. networks and virtualization are shoe in for still be needed .. other stuff, such as particular language .. not so

Exactly. That's why i switched from trying to get certified in C++ because programming languages can be outdated eventually (ie: c++ to c#), where as networking is pretty much going to always be needed. And from what I've heard cali has a pretty big job market for it fields.

personally i'd go for vmware cirtification as i found ccna v/dull .. but i'm not big into networks .. virtualization on the other hand is much more interesting when you mix it up with zero toch automation/provisioning
