Yeah, I was like "Well, it's not gonna win GOTY, but I think it's a shoo-in for Performance."

Now I really wanna play Hellblade, to be honest.

An early access on the list.

So it's a clear signal that as it is they can pack it on a disc and sell it?

I donno if you knew, but it had been due to leave EA for awhile now.

I guess it's not on a disc...but honestly, there's no point in having the physical disc for a game needs to be online all the time unless you want something to collect.

Still, I agree with your overaching point (and I think the vast majority of the public and voters do too) that EA games shouldn't be nominated for GOTY, no matter how popular they are.

I just got passed the first boss. I've been playing it with some decent head phones like some people have been recommending and I think that's a pretty legit recommendation.

Yeah, it won sound design too, huh? Honestly, that award (to me) always catches my insterest. Sound is one thing that video games can really innovate with whereas something like film can't.

The awards are a bad joke, obviously. But Persona 5 was overlooked in art design and sound. Probably goty as well.

I actually really like the awards and have been a fan of them for awhile now. With the exception of PUBG, I think all the GOTY nominations were pretty fantastic achievements.

Back on the topic this year was great with lots of quality games and nintendo has been making good decisions with the switch's line up.

Haven't played yet, but i'm pretty sure i disagree.

Just because of the weapon damage system. I know i will hate it, as i do in every game that has it.

The show was good though. I liked the jabs on EA and the reveal of Soul Calibur 6.

You should play it. I was extremely cynical about it and didn't even buy it at launch. Luckily, my brother did get it and after watching him mess around in it for about 2 hours, I was pretty invested in trying it out.

200 hours later...

Honestly, I hope every open world game apes some of BOTW's approach to open world games. Start by not littering the map with objectives right off the bat and let us discover things.
