Halo 3 Co-op to be Offline Only?

what a big pile of steaming turd if true, FPS on consoles really does suck balls

Quote:
Rumors were swirling on Wednesday that Halo 3 may not include online cooperative play right out of the box and that the feature might become available as downloadable content at a later date. Or not…

According to the staff at CVG, who claim to have their hot little hands on an advance copy of the next issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, Bungie's Frank O'Connor told the magazine that implementing the feature over Xbox LIVE has been a "challenge" and might not fly at all.

O'Connor wasn't immediately available for comment, and Microsoft spokesman Joe Dimiero said he could not say whether the info was accurate.

"We have yet to publicly confirm anything regarding co-op in Halo 3," he said, when asked whether the feature was in or out.

Does this mean we'll actually have to sit in the same room with our friends to team up against the Covenant horde? Say it ain't so, Bungie.

Only halo groupies think Bungie are a good developer. They're shit who just copy ideas and cant actually do anything technical. Unless I'm wrong Crackdown does co-op online.

This would be a MAJOR flaw. IMO it was Gears biggest selling point!!! I barely played Gears single player!

Competative multiplayer is much more important that online Co-op and a solid single player is more important also so if something has to be skimped on I'm glad it's that. Well, maybe glad isn't the word but I'll get over it.

Co-op on gears was fun but I think I only played trough co-op maybe 2 times which really doesn't take that long. After that you really don't want to see much more of the campaign.

I've never been overly excited about online co-op in any game. Maybe I should try it sometime. I''ve always looked forwards to online gaming that offered more competitive based gameplay.

Mercenaries 2 offers co-op online, and I must say, I'm not hating the idea. Still not overly excited about Halo 3.

Halo doesnt need to improve on anything. Doesnt matter what it brings or doesnt, it'll still sell millions because people have been told to like the game and so the sheep will buy it like they did 1 and 2. Good single player game? They aint done that in 2 attempts. History shows that if they cant do it once in two attempts, they aint gonna do it at all. ITs just logic. And bungie suck.

No rep to give, but so wannnnnnnnnnnnnnnna.

On topic. A in-house developer is finding it troublesome to use a in-house network? BS stop trying to make it prettier and fucking flesh out the internals. UE's are a good example: network, AI, and controls are always way more advanced then video / graphics the first few builds of the engine.

(Oh and MS it's a disservice to the Halo addicts out there, it's a system seller under your umbrella give them some help.)
