I'm pretty sure that this will mean fewer rights for Americans and not just concerning gun control. I remember that some places had a curfew after Columbine. Lawmakers will use any newsworthy event to come up with new restrictions. That Florida lawyer is already blaming videogames.

I'm pretty sure you're referring to Jack Thompson. Thank god everyone already knows this guy is a complete tool from his past rantings. I hate that guy. As for more restrictions on firearms, i'm pretty much indifferent since we Americans would all go nuts if we lost the right to bear arms. GD hicks. Increased restrictions don't really do anything and are usually appealed down the road anyhow. IMO no nation's layman citizens should automatically be able to go to a gun show and buy an assault rifle.

as i am currently in newport news, VA (270 or so miles east of blacksburg) it surprised me and really did make the whole event feel close. 33 deaths, at what we like to call an "institution of higher learning." it really is quite unfortunate that someone had the pre-meditated intention of taking the lives of others.

the shootings at VT, bad weather, the recent extension of deployment tours in iraq (15 months boots-on-the-ground now) doesn't make for a great way to start the week.

The anti video game asshole Jack Thompson was on yesterday blaming video games for it. At that point no one knew any details and as far as the shooter goes, we still don't know.


Video games will get blamed anyway since the shooter is Korean. That's what happens when they spend 90% of their day playing Warcraft and Lineage. Games are to blame! Jack Thompson said so! Training as a level 2 dark elf with a staff trained him to shoot down students!!!





Remind me to hurt Thompson if I ever see him.
