iPod Nano Help

Sup,

My sister just got one (and I immediately deleted her crud from me psp) but we are having trouble setting it up.

With the psp I just copy and paste music into a folder and voila but here you need a program? Can't it be done without it? I tried downloading iTunes but when I run it and gives a "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience bla bla" error. I tried uninstalling and re-intalling the prog but no cigar.

FYI I'm using XP.

Download a 3rd party iPod app. Apple's iTunes restricts you to curb piracy.

Well here's your problem!

Kidding aside, iTunes is the official app required to use the iPods. If there is a 3rd party app out there then use that. if not then check Apple's site for trouble shooting.

Pika, did you reset your iPod? That sounds like a software glitch and not a hardware problem.

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705

Try that and let me know how it went.

try reseting it a few times in a row, like do it alot

if it continues then its your battery, its bad.

It doesn't do it in that sense. You have to register your iPod with YOUR iTunes. You can not upload your iPod to another's computer with iTunes, you have to use a 3rd party app. Ergo, for iPod transfers, Apple's iTunes is way more restrictive than 3rd party apps.

It's fairly easy. Theres an installer that pretty much does the work for you. http://www.ipodlinux.org Theres a link on the main site for the installer. It's honestly not all that practical and you're going to lose everything on your ipod just to install it. That site also has a lot of tutorials and access to pretty much anything you're going to want to load onto it.
