Frustrating Problem please help!

Hi there. I am annoyed by a niggling problem that kleeps happening with my monitor. It is an LCD and is not compatible with all resolutions. The problem is in a game if i accidently switch it to a wrong res it says mode not supported then the screen goes black. The game is running and i hear music but can't see a thing. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to reset this. The games in question are Half Life 2 and Desperate Housewives (the Girlfriend plays it). Any help would be massivly appreciated!

Cheers
Grant

Location: I hated going to weddings cause all the grandmas would poke me saying "you're next, you're next". They stopped saying that when I did it to them at Funerals.

Best bet is just to uninstall and reinstall.

OR!

finding the config.cfg for HL2 in the steam folder and delete it, the game will make a new one when you start it up and it should be reset back to normal what it used to be.

for desperate housewives, since I don't know about the files for the game, just do what I said before uninstall and reinstall. But find the save files and copy them if you want those still.

PS - Nindalf I have watched the missus playing DH and I have to say. Despite it telling you exactly what to do next. It isn't a bad game and is very polished.
