Datel is making a Freeloader for the Wii

http://gonintendo.com/?p=10406

So you desperately want to play import Wii titles on your US Wii. Well it looks like you may be in luck, if you have patience. Datel is right now hard at work on a Wii version of their Freeloader software. As we all know, the Cube version has been tested on the Wii, and works with mixed results. This Wii version should handle all import Japanese Wii games no problem. Damn you Datel, put this out now…I could have had WarioWare already!

Only problem with this now is firmware updates, which basically is if Nintendo updates so it doesn't work or if their update just messes with to begin with we're screwed

But hopefully it will work without problems when it's done.

Good. The freeloader was a blessing for me with the Gamecube.

Good news, indeed.

...At least, if Datel can deliver, that is. I'mma surely need one of these by the time Naruto GNT EX comes out some time next year. It'd also be handy to have, just in case SNK Playmore decides to not port some of their Wii-wares stateside, or has an unwieldly release margin for 'em.

I still think a hacked firmware is going to be the best option for importing, "backup", and homebrew.

Maybe, all it really matters if Nintendo doesn't really want them making a region free disc for the Wii. Then firmwares will probably work around the region coding in the system.

Great news
Even if nintendo did firmware update the wii couldnt it be worked round by making the freeloader more like the an Action Replay disc?
