Anyone else want a PS3 because of this game?
I do.. I wont get one.. Im not that silly.. but Its the only reason
I would get one at the momment.

The game looks beautiful, I hate to bring it up but if Shenmue ever gets
a remake or sequal it better look like this.

From what I understand, Sony went too SEGA as soon as they went 3rd party and
where in the red almost bankrupt and offered SEGA money for the series to be
exclusive to sony consoles for a number of years.

SEGA cant put it on more then one console untill that contract is up.

Sony where the ones who knocked SEGA out of the console market
in the first place but not by fair play but with there lies and fake PS2
propergander at E3 and TGS, Sony are the hardware version of EA.

Microsoft of Nintendo would.. SEGA pulled them selves out of the red
a full year before they merged with Sammy..
And didnt give in to making shitty GTA clones,

And they STILL made some great games wile having extremely small budgets
for games from 2001 to 2005..

With this I agree, Some of the best graphics on the ps3 amazing smooth movement, One thing I really like is the dodge and counter attacks in this game
makes the battles look alot more epic and you already know a hell of alot
more effot goes into making Virtua Fighters and becomeing good at VF.
Button bash on this game and your going to get no where.

Sega were not in danger at all when they were in the red. They had dozens of companys lined up to pick them up.

I still love that comercial of Segata riding a nuke towards Sony HQ from when Sega Saturn was dieing


Edit. talk about misinformed There is absolutely no need to be greatful to Sony. They did nothing at all, they just got an exclusive lisence for ONE game. A game that would have continued on anyway on the same path.

Edit.2 Its also arguable that Sega's "stupid" adons were a steb above and beyond anything else that was being done. Inovation always comes at a price, and the price is that the next guy can step up and take your idea but make it cheaper and slightly better. I dont even need to go in to detail about the Saturn. We will never again see a machine with the games we had on that monster. Saturn was like a playpen for developers that wanted to try something different.

I sort of agree with you D, but I dont.. The genesis add-ons where
really bad for SEGA and started some back lash, but it wasnt enough to kill them..

And as MUCH as I love the saturn and as many fucking great games were on that system,
the cost of the console was mad.. but Cath adressed that with other companys
takeing the ideas for cheap leaving the real innovator with the shitty deal.

But none of that finished SEGA off, Sony did alot of lying with the PS2 just like with
the PS3 and thats what put the nails in SEGAs coffin.

No developer running away from developing for the Dreamcast is what killed them> When you can just burn a boot disc to CD and not mod the console, no developers are going to develop for you.

Sega's stupidity killed themselves.

VF5 looks like loads of fun though.

Most people didnt know about that, and alot of people who did still didnt do it,
Its not enough to kill the console.

It was sony, trust me I watched the hole thing unfold and sonys
'promises' of SUPER COMPUTERS and GRAPHICS ON PAR WITH CGI..
along with the rest of there crap. I remember reading
one of there christmas adds 'worst things to get for christmas' and DC was
like number 1 or 2.. The bullshit hype Sony created and the idiots who fell for it
is what killed the Dreamcast, one of the best consoles ever made.. wankers.

A step above or not Sega screwed up with the add-ons and thats what matters, then they launched the Saturn earlier than expected (iirc even the retailers weren't ready and pissed) and its expensive as hell. Reputation out the window. The PS1 mopped the floor with both of its competitors and if you say that the Saturn had better games than it then, I'm sorry to say, you're full of it.

The Dreamcast died and Sega went 3rd party because they ran out of money, plain and simple.
