Mobile PC Gaming

Although I'm not a hardcore pc gamer, I do tend to purchase a new game every now and then. I usually play older 3d games (from the past couple years) and graphic editing (photoshop, low-poly 3ds Max). Just out of curiosity; how outdated is my notebook for modern 3d mobile gaming?

AMD Turion 64X2 Mobile (1.6GHz 256KB + 256KB L2 cache, 1600Mhz system bus)
1024MB system memory
100GB (5400rpm) hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 (256MB)
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (soon to be vista )

Its kinda low end. I'm a bit surprised you use a laptop when you do all the graphics editing. I thought it would be alot easier on a PC since you can bump your specs up for it. But yeah, laptops were never really made for gaming, unless you spend like 2-3 times of the amount on it that you would on a normal high end PC.

Like I said, I'm not a very hardcore pc gamer. I could do without oblivion and F.E.A.R. I did play half-life 2 on my old geforce 4 MX pc and it ran good with settings on low. I tend to go after MMPO's such as anarchy online. However, i'm currently trying to decide between FFXI, WOW, and guild wars (probably guild wars since no online fees). I also play adventure and strategy games such as black and white and the longest journey. I haven't played black & white 2 yet, but I bought dreamfall and it suprisingly ran decent on my notebook. And then of course the older games I play like final fantasy 7/8, sonic adventure, etc.

While I did play FEAR and Oblivion and enjoyed them both alot, I'm also the strategy/rpg/adventure whore deep down. Anarchy Online is excellent, although while Guild Wars is a great game it really wont have the same lasting effect as a proper MMO will have. If you're interested in them theres a couple coming out I've got my little eye on. The first one being Conan, and the other called Gods and Heroes. Check them out.

wow Alucard! Age of Conan looks fantastic. I see funcom is making this game. I wonder if longest journey creator Ragnar Tornquist is behind this project.

Well if you dont mind playing at low detail you should be fine. But considering DX10 is here you should be able to upgrade easily by the time this one comes out. EVERYONE should be making the jump to DX10 in the next 5-6months. There should be no excuse.
