Dark Messiah patch out

Just let it auto update through steam and you're set.

Quote:
An undocumented patch for Dark Messiah hit Steam late last night which fixes most, if not all of the stability and skipping problems the game was suffering from. I just played four levels with the details cranked up to high (I had to go medium/low before the update) and it ran just fine. Not a single lock-up either, even in what used to be the crashiest parts. The level loads are still a little long (about the same as Company of Heroes), but other than that, it was golden.
Info for the patch notes at the link below. Patch is about 6megs.

that was quick.
Too bad they didnt wait to release the game about a week so that they wouldn't release a buggy game...

ITs a patch for single and multiplayer. And not really their fault. I mean I've been playing it and the only bug I encountered was crashing at the beginning of each chapter. That was about it. I've heard the nocd patch out at the moment is actually very crap and makes your game unstable. So thats possibly one reason. Though my friend couldnt get it to run at all on his laptop. Anyway FIXED!

I've been planning on buying this game, but I've been very cautious of pc games that are multi-platform ever since Deus Ex 2.
I've read this game is like Arx Fatalis, which I loved, but I don't trust review sites.
I'm also a fan of the old Might & Magic series, I finished MM3-9.

Have any of you played Arx or the old MM games, how does this game compare?

This game definately isnt multiplatform. Its also made by the same developer as Arx Fatalis. I think my favourite MM game was 3. Dark Messiah is sorta like Arx Fatalis. Alot of dungeon type areas, but some really cool ideas. The character development is a free role typ one where you put your skill points on different abilities you want down a tree like selection. I'm enjoying it heaps so far.

I thought it was another PC/XBOX game.
It's good to hear that there are still some quality PC games coming out.
I will definitly purchase this one soon.

Theres heaps of good pc games. I'm a picky gamer but I'm REALLY backed up till last year. I havent had a chance to play a couple rpgs on my consoles that I want because of these bastard titles.
