Bob Dylan?
I'm curious whether any of you folks have ever listened to this guy properly. I mention this because he has a new album out at the end of August which I'll be picking up, I think he has a pretty good alternative sound, which is quite refreshing for me. I find as long as you cut out the hippy crap, he can be good to listen to. Anyone else?
He's amazing

Tangled up in Blue has always been my favourite of his songs for some reason. On top of those you mentioned, Hurricane is also great.

Only listened to him a few times, and showed my naked ass to him on a festival.
The guy can't sing though.

I agree with him. He can't sing well at all. I don't think many people would defend his singing abilities. That's not where he shines at.

You already mentioned it, but lyrically, that is where he shines. I find his voice fine really. It can get horse almost at some points, like he's had too much weed or something, but it's not unbearable.

It's not unbearable, especially not on records, but he wouldn't win any singing contests with his voice.

I was actually considering to make a Bob Dylan or Billy Joel appreciation thread. Seems like I will leave ol' Billy for later. |

He's coming out with a new album too, on the 8/29.
EDIT: Billy Joel RULES.

Yep, he's amazing. I never get tired of listening to We Didn't Start The Fire. Can't believe that basically singing 120 events in chronological order would sound so awesome. And it's just one of his many amazing songs. Great variety.
