What blows me away is that fact so many have the money to lay down for a PS3. In a since, is it really a good thing the Wii is so much cheaper but only stays ahead by so little? Shouldn't it have a huge leap instead for being lower in price? I just hope this doesn't give Nintendo the impression the Wii can sell for $250 and still own cause as far as I'm concerned if the PS3 was cheaper it probably pull ahead to un-beatible levels if this chart means anything.

Remember Japan are complete sony whores. And they're buying into the noobness of cheap blu-ray, just like they did with DVD/ps2. Plus they showed an advert for FF13 which means instant buy for the japanese. Overseas is where it should get interesting.

Surveys and pre-orders are just a good way to gloat before release, but ultimately they are very poor indications of future sales. Majority of buyers don't pre-order consoles (obviously) and surveys are mostly answered by hardcore gamer nerds anyway.

Did anyone take into consideration that technically that chart is showing the PS3 as significantly higher? You need to combine the value of both versions of the console to get the real numbers there. As you can see they've segregated the pre-order sales for Playstation into 20GB and 60GB.

All that isn't true, the real chart doesn't even have PS3 on it; the PS3 is not even comparable with Nintendo's Wii.
