Price and date not announced until September

According to the-magicbox main page, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata confirmed that the company will announce the official launch date and selling price of Wii in September 2006. Previous rumors suggested that Wii will launch in Japan sometimes in October 2006, and the price will be less than 25,000 yen (US$250).

Talk about waiting until the last second.

My word. I wonder why they are waiting till the very last month..Is it possible M$ is doing their own price cut this holiday season? Whatever it is though I imagine this will confirm that the Wii is coming out in October or Novembers. I'm thinking it'll be November has everything big from Nintendo comes out that month.

maybe they are trying to hold competitors close up until release? If MS dosent know the offical price, then they cant act apon it.
