Dreamcast would explode trying to run the original Freespace game. These games are meant to be seen in motion, not stills.

Not to mention that the source remake incorporate a lot of newer technologies (bump mapping and what not).

Apparently there are some HUGE mods out or coming out for Freespace2. These aren't merely little mods adding a few features or ships, but entirely new games.

I also here Freelancer got a fair bit of mod support (making the game much better than it was on release).

Freelancers mods were unbelievable. Theres one that makes the the game universe like 40 times bigger or something. Its obscene. Lots of new side quests. Shitload of new weapons and ships etc. I'd like them to remake the Macross mod for Freespace2. I want a nice pretty one with missions.

Once more, a term stolen from the PC world since the PC was around long before the xbox! Just like bump mapping and polygons. Poor console kiddie!

Mod is when people aren't happy with the shit they've bought so they have to improve it themselves. Needless to say that dissatisfaction is much more common with the PC crowd.

Yeah, the Mod community sucks, fan creativity is a bane upon this industry which gives us so much great content as it is. I say go take your originality and skill and SHOVE it fans, the mainstream dont care!
