Guerrilla Games.

Not really all that surprising today SCEE have announced that they have acquired Guerrilla Games (Killzone, Shellshock: Nam '67) completely.

many Killzone's likely to follow.

to be honest because of the scores killzone recieved....i didnt play it a lot....i finally picked it up recently and was surprised to find out ..its not that terrible...but your right decado..it can be improved.....i think the problem was that too much was expected of the "at the time very small developer".....

the game's hype killed it. i also avoided it until recently, but it's not a bad game at all.

...mmkay.

Honestly, I thought this had taken place a while ago. But with the Killzone Trailer stimulating the gaming media as it did, I'm sure they want to be a new franchise for the PS3, especially since many of the PS2's franchises are getting to the point of redicious monotony.

As much as I like Sly and R&C and J&D, they're all on their 4th incarnations now. We need new blood.

J&D has gone down sicne Naughty Nog decided to end the series and make spinoffs instead. I mean.. Jak Extreme Racing? The racing parts of the Jak games were the most annoying, and they went and made a WHOLE GAME of it?

Even Ratchet and Clank has gone from fun action platformer to basic shootemup. For once I agree with Dr Bombay. Sony needs new franchises. Hopefully platform ones. :p

Hell, bring back Crash Bandicoot if you have to!

Has Crash Bandicoot ever left Vivendi Universal has been pumping them like constantly.

Jak is good never cared much for Sly or R&C.

Don't expect to see those franchises on the PS3. Particularly the Jak franchise.

Insomniac is making a FPS, Naughty Dog has already said they've done their last Jak title, and since Sly is the lowest selling of the 3 I'm sure Suckerpunch will be doing something new for the PS3.

I enjoyed R&C the most out of the lot, but the last two versions weren't very good because they concentrated so heavily on the online component (which is one of my fears for next gen).

Honestly, I dont like these characters (note, in my defense ive never played their games, so im not saying the games bad or not). But they remind me too much of all the stupid wannabee's of old. Characters like Bubsy, Banjo & Kazoie, Earthworm jim, Rayman or even nowadays Tak, That gay Aulstrailian Tiger, even Conker.

Weither or not the game they were in was good, these characters dont strike me as great lasting icons. Not sure what it is about them either, Its not because they are "icons of my past" either.

For instance when i was in 4th grade, kirbys dreamland came out. You knew kirby was going to be a hit. But Bubsy came out at the same time, and I could care less about him. I had no idea back then who made what, i thought it was all nintendo acutally, but as a 4th grader i saw kirby in the store and bubsy, and picked kirby.

Naughty Dog is probably going to do with Jak what they did with Crash. Either sell it or let it fade into obscurity. I'm for the latter because Vivendi Universal pretty much destroyed Crash Bandicoot after they got the liscense. At least by keeping the liscense they can bring it back on PS4 or 5 and play the nostalgia angle.

Don't know about that. Look at all the Warhawk hype. The title back in the PSX days was decent but it was overshadowed by Tekken and tons of other games. Now, it's one of the PS3's killer apps.

It is?

A.) I've never heard of a PS3 version.
B.) How can you call ANYTHING a 'killer app' before you even play it?

What you meant was that its "a game coming out for PS3, and it looks real nice".

If they made the same game and called it WarEagle, because they sold the War Hawk license to BANK HARD (which is what the world is ALL ABOUT!!!), it wouldnt make any difference.
