Ryo Ga Gotoku

Ive Been looking into this game and I think Any fan of Shenmue would like it.

Nagoshi San the Directer and writer of the games story
pointed out some similarities between the 2 games:
1-It's Free(Like Shenmue's genre)
2-It have a strong story Like Shenmue.
3-Action scences by Fighting Like Shenmue but in a free style. (?)
4-Lots of mini games, slot machines, Sega-Sammy machines, UFO and more.
5-Cinematic gameplay and heat breaking movies during the game.
Pluss many other things in the way you can act in the game
also you'll see more when you get a chance to play it.

He also pointed out that the Fighting in the game Is a lot more Brutish
and bloody, Picking up things too beat the bad guys with, But you will still learn moves and improve.
To get your health back you have to go out and eat a meal.

The story I am not to sure on yet but it is to do with a man that got out of
jail for killing a gang member to protect his family and he looks after
a little girl but im not sure where she fits in.

Graphicly the game looks really great for the PS2 but there are a cupple of frame
rate problems here and there but maybe they will be sorted out before
the game is released.

There pretty small but you get the Idear.

Also there is a trailer but its a bit fuzzy and not worth it.

All in all the game looks great,
I'm a massive Shenmue fan so this game will be good for me
untill Shenmue3 comes out. *fingers crossed*

Ryu Ga Gotoku, a name that can be translated to English as "Like a Dragon," is an action-adventure title with a story and setting focusing on the darker side of Tokyo life.
As with Shenmue, you have a lot of freedom in this world, from playing games in a game center, winning dolls from a UFO Catcher machine, to trying out batting practice. Other facilities include a coin locker area, a lottery ticket sales stand and a bar. The bar can only be entered once you've cleared a particular event. You can eat ice cream (although the effect is unclear at this point) at an ice cream parlor and purchase items and read magazines at a convenience store. To heal your wounds following a fight, you'll need to purchase medicine from a pharmacy.

Story:
You play as Kazuma Kiryuu, who was once known as the "dragon" of his underworld organization. The story of Ryu Ga Gotoku begins when Kazuma gets out of prison, having served for a crime that he committed for the sake of his good friend and for the girl that he loves. Kazuma finds himself caught up in the disappearance of a mysterious girl called Haruka, who is the key to a ten billion yen payday. The game is produced by Sega's Toshihiro Nagoshi, and features the voice performance of several prominent Japanese actors as well as Japanese author Hase Seishu as scenario director.

Then why don't they just bloody well make Shenmue III then... looks nice just need to announce a date japanese date....

Its not by Yu suzuki, its by Nagoshi, Shenmue 3 will come when Suzuki is free to direct it,
He just said that in a recent interview.
If it came out now he wouldnt have the chance to Direct,
I wouldnt want them to lower the quolity to make it come faster.

Anyway This game looks very cool,
I wish it was on something better then the PS2 though, Why not on the Next Gen consoles!
It cost them something like 20 million to make
so they might as well put it on a good console.
Bloody PS2, I'm going to have to get one soon..

Well it's likely to do better on the PS2 then the XB360 especially in Japan the PS3 is way off.

Ture and the amount of detail in that picture of the shop is mad,
I actually thought it was a real picture when I first saw it!
Only on closer inspection can you tell its not real by the
design of the man on the left.

Fooled me. I thought you were posting a real picture of a shop similiar to the Tomato shop from Shenmue. I know it's only a thumbnail, but the lighting is impressive.

doesnt look like PS2 is going to run out of new games anytime soon. first one to arrive, last one to retire.

Well SEGA just trademarked the name 'Time of the Assassin'
Some SEGA fans think that it is the westen name for this game but
I think its a new game.

I hope they keep the name 'like a dragon'
in english which is what 'Ryu ga gotoku' means.

this is looking even better than before

its fricking Shenmue on steroids!

the amount of detail is amazing

the fighting system looks damn fun

and it even looks like there could be a dating SIM involved!!

this game could quite possably be my favorite game from the looks of it

shouldnt get my hopes up but I WILL!
