F.E.A.R 92% PC Gamer
Thats right! Review from the very respected PC Gamer magazine has judged it to be worth 92%! Unlike the totally biased XBox magazine or PSM, this magazine has always been brilliant throughout the years. Can't wait for this game. Demo was AMAZING.

Dont make me hurt you... I havent read the article since I dont subscribe to any magazines. But I'll gues it'll be as long as a normal FPS game. Its also got multiplayer so theres a stack of replay anyway.

Like just about every other PC game with a decent budget, it is headed to consoles (Xbox360, in this case) :annoyed:

Thats just a rumour right now. And if true you wont be seeing it for a year at least. You know how I know its a rumour? Its from the Official Xbox Magazine. 90% of the stuff from there is just made up crap to get people happy about their 'hand-me-down PC'. And they said the game was running. Thats a lie already as the teams only been focused on getting the game to work on PC. Let them port it. It'll be ignored since it isnt exclusive.

Let's hope it will actually be stable for most computers, unlike Battlefield 2.

I downloaded the demo of Fear, but it didnt work. The begining of the demo throws you out of a car, but for some reason I think your supposed to get out of the front of the car. It kept spitting me behind it, and i coudnt get over it becuase of an invisible wall. All that was left to do was to walk off the no-clipping edge and die. Such a waste, i REALLY wanted to play this game too. |

Lol, my PC couldn't even start up the game, my gfx card lacks pixel shaders ;p
This game does look amazing though, looks even better than Half Life 2.

The behind car thing is a known bug. I havent had it happen but it does for others. Dont worry about it since its only a beta. And betas are generally 2-3month old code. Final version will be much less buggy and alot more stable and optimized. Higher textures wouldnt be a surprise addition either. Not that it needs it.

The problem I have with this is that porting is the 1st step to companies multiplatforming. I bet FEAR 2 (if it happens) will be a PC/Xbox360 and maybe PS3 title...and it won't be nearly as good as it should be. Once a PC developer starts multiplatforming they don't seem to stop...and they're never the same

Some ignore the trend. Others like Eidos jump full into it and get burned and then need to disband studios. If anything, making games for PCs will be cheaper then the next gen consoles, and with the option of selling your game for full price online instead of going full into production costs, I'm hoping devs stick to their primary fanbase. Ofcourse theres some games that get multiplatformed that usually always end up better on the PC. And even altered to make it more PC like. We should be ok.
Dont worry Seraph, its one of those games you dont need to preview. I cant find 1 bad thing being said anywhere about it. Its completely awesome. Even my console whore friend is wanting to play it. |
