Castlevania Extra Characters *Confirmed*

I've been getting excited about these games and digging around for info and I ran across doublejumpbooks, which is apparently given rights to make the offical strategy guide for the DS title. They did Makai Kingdom and such I believe. On the boards there someone asked if the same character from Aria of Sorrow would once again be the extra playable character in Dawn of Sorrow. Suprised in the reply it was stated that he will infact return as the extra character, but this time he is bringing some friends. Perhaps a few of the other characters have been made playable? That would certainly be great, Yoko or Genya "Arikardo". The only thing left is to give the extra characters their own little sidequest stories, as opposed to simply running through the game with them.

I also found screen over at RPGamer I think it was, Soma is using a joker card (an enemy soul ability) and the figure on the card is Alucard's SotN sprite. Just a little fun for reference.

In the PS2 Castlevania trailer I noticed the main character was fighting someone using a whip, upon further investigation I have reason to suspect (timeline wise) that Trevor Belmont will appear in the game, and likely be the extra character for the PS2 title. From the trailer, he plays exactly like Leon. I certainly hope they don't have some lame ass Dracula lacky beat Trevor Belmont, slayer of Dracula himself. That would make me very sad. Hopefully Trevor just beats up on him a good bit before moving on.

That sounds pretty cool. Alucard needs to come back.

It releases in Japan by the end of the month, and in the US about a month later I believe. So close...

he is in Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow, but not playable just one of the characters, but he hides who he really is

the only reason you know its him is that one of the other characters called him Alucard.... I mean Arikardo

and Super Castlevania Rules! I loved that one, but almost all the castlevania games have been good so far

but SOTN is what got me back into Castlevania, cause of its story, so damn awesome

I want a collection set with all of them on one disc up to the N64 games

He also uses his soul steal spell within the first few minutes trying to protect Soma in Aria of Sorrow. He will clearly be in Dawn of Sorrow, as will the other characters (they are all on the cover after all), the question is if he will be one of the people aside from Juste, assuming this writer for the strategy guide wasn't just screwing with everyone by saying that Juste will have company coming with him. Though it could be taken a few different ways, extra playable characters seems to be the most likely.

I'll never call it SotN because I hate the US release with a gut. The true one will always be Nocturnal in the Moonlight. The voice acting was terrible. I felt like they had ruined the game with that.

NitM is the greatest game because it had good controls, very well itemization, great storyline, music was great, and voice actors was also top notch. It was the greatest platform of its time, it proves to be that 2D platforms was still strong.

I liked the game so much that I even bought the Saturn version just to see. But it was horrible. I felt like they had to watered down the game to able to run it on Saturn. All the buttons that was conveniently available on the PS version were suddently replaced with a number of button combinations. You'd even have slight, annoying pause to loading when bringing up a map, when going into the menu. Although Saturn had great 2D colors, it proves to be the game's undoing. Because it is Dracula X, a vampire game, a dark story. The PS version's poor, washed out 2D color actual kind of contributed to the dark theme, whilst the Saturn's rich color made it looks more like a Disney game.

The decline of the series for me was the 2D->3D on Castlevania 64, it destroyed the series for me, that was the worst game ever created. The ones afterward like on GBAs holds no interests for me, eventhough people told me it was decent. And also something along the line like "The NitM team is making it etc. etc.," they just couldn't bring back the magic that was NitM.
