I think IGN Xbox is being extremely generous in their score, considering this is the last big game for the Xbox. IGN Xbox always overrates games, especially ones that are hyped to death like this one has been.
I'll wait for Gamespot and other sites who have competent scoring means on Xbox games, considering the demo for this game was nothing to write home about.. |

And I think XBox has one or two more big games left.

Even gamespot stated in thier final impressions that they felt the game was polished and another potential gem from Bioware.
I'm curious to see what they rate it, since Gamespot and IGN have not been as different on thier scores and some would believe, considering the extremely high score from IGN I suspect a mid to low 9 score from Gamespot, unless they are more critical of the so called "Minor" flaws that IGN seemed to have took the 1 point off from. //// On a personal note, I would love to get a game like this, but I'm afraid my xbox might not be able to handle it, for some reason when I played Fable, every 1 minute to 30 minutes I'd get a disc read error, I never actually finished the game yet for that reason, in Knights of the Old Republic the disc read errors happened less often, but still took place... it seems that with all of these Xbox RPGs, my Xbox is not capable of playing them. You can't always judge a whole game by a demo. I remember when almost everyone was complaining about the demo of Panzer Dragoon Orta and then when the full game came out almost everyone thought it was great.

The @ss kissing from IGN is just sickening at times.
While I don't doubt this game will get stellar reviews, just like all Bioware RPGs (whether it is deserved...), that was a bit much, even for IGN. I wouldn't expect GS to be harsh on anything made by Bioware, either. Obvious flaws tend to be overlooked with them at the helm. I look forward to a REAL review and hope this is an excellent game, but I can only take what IGN says with a ton or two of salt. |

BTW, what big games would that be? I can only think of multiplatform titles. Maybe Crimson Skies 2? As long as it doesn't wind up like Mech Assault 2. |

Jade Empire was always a side project by bioware, anticipated, hyped by some, but for the most part a non factor by many (especially mainstream gamers), MGS3 was a known product name, and was hyped from the beginning. Last edited by Abaddon; 04-09-2005 at 01:24 AM. |

Jade is nowhere near as hyped as those games....alot of people still don't even know what jade is and it's a week from release. Side-note, I pre-orded my copy today.

Alright, maybe hyped to death is a wrong choice of words. But you cannot deny that this title has had a lot of expectations from a large number of people, especailly from the gaming media. Whether this influenced IGN or not, we'll find out soon.

If we're talking about the largest group of gamers, which I believe you know whom I am referring to, then you also know that to them, bioware is just a word, possibly some of them know that bioware is the company that made "That Starwars game." Jade Empire is something as foreign to them as the world the game takes place in. |
