SuperAngelo64's Somewhat Short Reviews

So I'm starting a new review thread. This one is for reals, I promise.

Despite how awesome my other thread was the mods can go ahead and lock it! Really, you can!

Thing is... a good friend of mine let me borrow a ton of games to play! He wanted to know what I thought about them so I decided that I would expand my little 'opinions between friends' into it's own thread.

I want to keep them brief and to the point.

Yes, I've made a 1/5 ranking system because those are always fun, amirite?

1 - Shit
2 - Pretty bad
3 - Good
4 - Awesome
5 - Jack Albertson

I'll also be including little comics for each game (or not), along with a music sample in the form of a YouTube video.

I'll be judging the games on three primary factors:

-Gameplay-

This is the way the game functions. How fun it is to actually play, complete objectives, control your character, etc. You know, I consider this the meat of the game.

-Style-

'What the fuck is style', you ask? This is the overall 'feel' of the game. It's something that everyone experiences but something not alot've people pinpoint or take into consideration when looking at a game. This is usually what breaks a game when someone says "Well, it looked good on paper..." in the aftermath. Atmosphere, art style, voice acting, plot, etc. They all are part of this. It's basically the bread of the game.

-Music-

Well, these are my reviews aren't they? Music is a big part of any game. You might be thinking '..shouldn't this go under 'style'?'. I might be telling you to shut up. It's like the sauce (lol, sauce) of the game. Actually it being the 'sauce' is the best way to put it. It can really dress up something that already tastes good and sometimes if the sauce is good enough it can help you choke down shit that tastes awful.

So, let's get this started huh?

This pretty much sums up how I feel about the ZX armor

Alright so.. another Megaman game. To be honest I really don't have any big complaints with this one, it was actually a lot of fun. The only thing I didn't really understand is how the character is supposed to be a cross between X and Zero. They're pretty much just Zero. You get to play with the "X armor" for like two seconds and then you never get it again unless you complete some obscure objective that only Japanese kids care to do. The X armor is actually more useful because you can carry two-charge shots instead've just one. In this game charge shots do a ton more damage than trying to hack and slash your opponent up close like a hardcore ninja.

I'm going to say that this is possibly the most fun incarnation of Megaman to control. A big perk is that instead've just getting a shitty little power from defeating a boss you get a whole new form. Different movements, projectiles, and charge-shots. It's awesome.

The music is good. Yeah, it's good. It's also pretty good. There's not much else I can say really. While most of the tunes were kinda forgettable there are some that stick with me pretty well. It wasn't anything super amazing (like say.. Rockman and Forte) but it was above average.

Probably my favorite track

I have to say that the style is a bit of a step backwards for the franchise. It's like they took the Zero series and added in Fox Kids anime elements to it. I'm not a big fan of the art style and the whole concept. The story is that the souls of X and Zero are inside of 'biometal' which can transform a lucky after-school-anime-protagonist into "The One", complete with all the abilities of X and Zero. I've really got to give them props for continuation though, the 'background plot' really meshes itself well into the series.

ROCKMAN POWER!!! MAKE...UP!!!

Despite all the flak the Mega Man series gets for being "milked", ZX was a really fun game and an interesting way to continue the storyline.

It played alot like the MMZ games, and when you use the ZX armor its almost identical. I agree that Zero's armor kinda overwrites 90% of X's when they combine.

If you liked how you absorbed more than just the bosses Gun, then wait till you play ZXAdvent.

A little too brief there, but fun to read nonetheless. Why should this be in a different thread than the old one though?

..Both the youtube link doesn't work for me. It says "we're sorry, this video is no longer available". I wonder if it is the same to everybody. I don't remember seeing that massage that often if not at all when I was in london.

I didn't really get that guy

A few years back I played the original Trauma Center game for the DS. I have to admit it was pretty neat and I liked it quite a bit. This game is pretty much a remake that does everything right. It also does everything better. If I could only recommend one Wii game to everyone that owns a Wii it would be this game. It's really difficult for me to imagine someone not liking this game. Wait, no it's not, this is the internet.

The gameplay is fucking ace. Did I just say 'ace'? Wow. The controls are nearly flawless. When information about the Wii's remote first started pouring in this is the kind've game I imagined they'd be developing. Controlling, for the most part, is very simple. The only part you need to 'think' about is how to complete your objective (and really, isn't that how gaming is supposed to be?). My only complaint is a pretty big one and that's the fact that the information on how to complete your objectives are incredibly vague or just non-existent altogether.

Ho-ly-Shit! That's really all I have to say about this game's soundtrack. It's just amazing. This game's music is crafted with electronic synth leads, upbeat keyboards, smooth guitars, and seasoned nicely with jazz chords. I have nothing but praise in this department.

Shit is chill

The atmosphere in this game really something. It's one of those games where you'll come back to it in a few years and have an awesome feeling of nostalgia. The art style is fan-fucking-tastic and the fact they could develop a good story for a game about preforming surgery is pretty damn amazing. Naturally, the characters and plot have been slightly butchered through localization but overall it's very enjoyable. The only thing that's missing is full voice acting, but they stuck that in the sequel.

There's a bomb in the lasagna!

I think I have the first game on the DS. It became very hard very quickly, and as a result I lost interest. The first Wii version was 4:3 480i only.

Isn't Trauma Center 2nd Opinion super-difficult though? Also, I thought it was two-player. Haven't played it yet...
