Microsoft bought Double Fine?!?
What the fuck? Dear God in Heaven. How did I not hear about this? My son just informed me and I thought he was just fucking with me. And this happened back in June! I can't believe I'm just now hearing about this. I'm going to go play Quake...

Yep. Good for the company because financial security and MS doesn't do what EA does to their companies but bad for consumers who want double fine games on ps. I'm ok with it since MS tends to be laissez faire with creative freedom.

Well, when you put it like that...
My first thought was they'll wind up like Rare but I guess they were already gone when MS bought them.

Honestly, i have no faith in big corporations buying studios.
Gives them financial stability and then rejects all their projects except the current popular genres wich then come out to a saturated market and later shut down. Microsoft may appear to be playing nice atm, but that won't last. At the end of the day they are just as bad as EA and Activision. Heck even Sony isn't that much better. See what happened to Psygnosis. Only one that can be seen as a positive is buying bought by Nintendo. The companies seem to flourish under them. Look at monolith, for example.
