I didn't draw this, but I made some edits to the original image, did the fades and also drew the logo in the bottom right corner. I just got a fightstick for super street fighter IV and decided to make a template out of boredom. Turned out pretty good, I think.

Also: The Legend of Zelda: The Cactus of Jazz.

I was in a Zelda mood lately.
I've been getting back into drawing more cartoons and comics lately. Feels good.

Actually I used Twiflip thinking I'd get a gif out of that. Turns out it makes flash only. The gif is just a thumbnail for the bigger flash version. I need to find a good gif program.

I'm using Paint Tool Sai. Trying it out, I like it better than Photoshop for drawing. Anyways, I started out with a rough sketch, and work it and refine it until it's decent. Then I create a new layer and create an outline. Then I colored it with flat colors on another layer, and shaded it in yet another layer. I topped it off with a thick outline around the entire image to make it pop. Then I took it into photoshop and added a noise filter over everything.

How do you do shading on another layer? Just with a darker color or some sort of transparency? What are the benefits of doing it on another layer?
