No, it isnt. They did change a few things in the game. They even mention it in interviews about it. They mentioned how they changed things later to make the torch more centric to the game for example.

I figure the day my new video card arrives is the day PC gaming will officially die and all old games will stop working.

I don't know how, but I have that feeling.

SHOCK! Microsoft is full of shit.

Following a highly questionable explanation from Alan Wake publisher Microsoft that Remedy's "pyschological action thriller" wouldn't receive a PC version as the game was not "suited for the intimacy of the PC," Remedy has given VG247 a far better reason."Frankly, we're a small studio. We're 50 people, and being a small studio, it makes a lot more sense for us to focus on one platform," said Remedy's Oskari Häkkinen.

"Saying that Alan Wake is best played on a sofa with 5.1 surround and a big TV screen, I think is more of a preference than anything else," head of the Alan Wake franchise Häkkinen stated, rejecting Microsoft's flimsy explanation. "We're not going out there to say that PC gamers can't enjoy it from their own PC set-up. We're certainly not saying that. We have a strong heritage in PC gaming as well."

Strong heritage on pc, yet suddenly they're too small to make pc games at the same time. Ignoring that for the last 3-4 years its been developed on the pc first. Just say microsoft wants it exclusive for 360. Its not that hard.

Did you even click on the link and read the rest of the article?

"Currently we're fully focused on the Xbox version, and [as for] what the future holds, we haven't got anything to announce, and we haven't thought that far right now," he said.

However, this latest development only explains why a PC version is not in development simultaneously and it seems the fate of any hypothetical PC edition still lies in the hands of Microsoft. Speaking on whether a PC version could ever appear, Häkkinen said that would require a "sit down" with Microsoft to "see where the title goes," mirroring Remedy's early comments that it "would love to see" Alan Wake on PC but "this decision lies with our publisher."

I think we all basically knew that is why the game was pared down to one system.
This game was originally shown in 2005 and was supposed to be released in 2008. I bet Microsoft would have loved to release the game on both the PC and X360, but that probably would have ment a 2011 release, with the slow as snail pace Remedy was moving along with developement. After waiting so long, Microsoft probably wanted a return on their investment.

Thats because Uncharted was always an exclusive inhouse Sony game. Alan Wake started out as an exclusive PC game by a third party developer. I could draw a diagram for you if you arent following yet. There will be some triangles, just a warning.

Hopefully it'll get a PC port down the road since I really want to play it, and sold my 360.
