Like D&D, LOTR: Online is shit because its developer is Turbine. Nicely said Alucard, I feel the same way about Turbine. Whatever they buy the license for, they ruin it.

I just want to know whoever was in charge with giving the decision to hire Turbine for this. I want to know so I can see him fired when this game totally bombs. Taking LOTR and turning it into an MMO is like a sure fire way of getting a smash hit. But Turbine still manages to make most fans not want to go near it. D&D has a MASSIVE fanbase and they even ignored the D&D game. Now the same will happen with LOTR. 2 huge market of fans. Well done.

They need to get an award sometime, as the most massive-fanbase-repelling videogame company

They could call it "The Turbine award".

So that lifetime payment will be equal to 20 months, I would be surprised if anyone is playing it by then

I've been playing this games for probably about 3 hours now. It's not great, but so far I've enjoyed it more than I did during my week on wow. So far it feels only SLIGHTLY related to LOTR, perhaps as I get farther in the game it will start to feel like that universe.

I played the beta.
Its basically subpar WoW, with horribly wrong combat mechanics, Oblivion World, super buggy, and way too much shit thrown at your face.
My overall consensus is failure, but a completely open world is nice.

I was invited to play for the weekend stress test on the servers. I havn't run into many bugs so far which surprised me, since it is still in beta. The only real reminder so far that it's lotr themed is the short areas in the game that are played solo... basically a playable cutscene.
